Subject: Konflikt '47 thread - post your projects, discussions & anything else Weird-War!
Thought it would be worthwhile to start a Konflikt '47 projects & discussion thread. Wasn't sure where to place this (as the game does feel like a historical game with sci-fi bits added, rather than visa-versa), but with the 'rift' background and Tesla Cannons I have put it here. But, if anyone else or the Mods think otherwise, please go ahead and move it.
I have just started on an Axis force (just a few bits so far), but would love to see what everyone else is working on.
To start with I hope you don't mind if I drop my introductopry set review video here -
I'm going to build the first mission models today and get them undercoated before the weather turns. I'm going for less histrocially accurate and more "MCU/80s Saturday Morning Cartoon" for these guys. US will be very much Captain America/Falcon vibes, and Axis purple with a bright contrasting spot colour.
I have to say, I'm really interested in this game. I love mechs, and I always wanted to try bolt action system (the bag dice looks very cool), but I don't care about historical ww2.
Now I'm debating between Konflikt 47 and Dust. Any opinions/comparison between these 2 games?
I'm actually considering buying models from both games, they just look so cool.

Ordered a Churchill in the sprue sale to turn into a Meteor. I was looking around for a cheap launcher and saw the below - had a bit of deja-vu and noticed it was originally part of a kickstarter. I double-checked and I'd backed that KS, and I don't remember using it for anything so time to check all the bitz boxes!
Spoiler:
Plan B is the one below from Mortian (it's an STL so should be easy to rescale) and plan C is to just kitbash something...

Isn't Dust dead / discontinued?

Yes, Dust is dead, but the rules are free, and you can still find minis for it. I'll buy whichever minis I like and try both rules.
Btw, Thargrim, I checked your painting and thought, man, that linebacker looks sooo cool, I want it, how did I miss it? And then realized it is the one in the starter set. Sometimes a diff paint job can make wonders on a mini. The official painting does not do minis justice. Well done.
I also want to check that tank with a...radiator? on top. It looks really cool - what mini is it? I can't find it on warlord's website

@EmanuelB - I have seen some other discussion in SM groups about use of Dust miniatures. The setting is very similar in some ways so there will be some crossover, especially some of the mechs and tanks. Rules-wise its a very long time since I have played but from memory it was a fast & fun game to play, with some interesting abstraction mechanics. Certainly, I don't think it was poor rules that stopped the success of the game. Perhaps you could try both games and see how you get on?
I have finished some Shocktroopers (thankfully returned to the Axis army list by Warlord following some community feedback). I've got the rest of this squad to work on, and then a mech..
Have really enjoyed looking around through the amount of 'Weird War 2' stuff that exists outside of the official range. Some Wolfenstein-inspired, others Cthulhu or Hellboy, and I think a lot of it can fit K47 quite well.
Modiphius did a now discontinued range called Acthung! Cthulhu (I got some of their 'Black Sun' below to use as officers, medics etc). Westwind Production also do a good range of both minis and bits. I've got some of their gasmask heads that scale nicely with Bolt Action, to help make some Waffen SS look a bit more 'Weird war'. There is also quite a lot of stuff on Etsy as well.
A small WIP of some Volksgrenadier conversions. I've used the BA Waffen SS kit as a base, then some heads & bits from Westwind Productions to help 'weird-em-up' a bit.
