I am sure it will be $90 us and £50 just like all the other boxes. Also makes the old box seem like a steal.

$90 for 18 models, or $90 for 25 models. Either way, I'm sticking to Ebay...

That's kinda typical. They make jetbikes playable and then take them out of the boxed set.
Can you make a falcon out of the waveserpent kit?

1x Waveserpent - $55 CAD In game effectiveness: Debatable Use with battleforce contents only: Questionable 1x Warwalker - $40 CAD (Guestimate based on sentinel): In game effectiveness: Questionable Use with battleforce contents only: Good 1/2 box Dire Avengers + 1/2 box Guardians - $45 CAD In game effectivenss: Middling to Poor in quantities supplied. Use with battleforce contents: Mandatory. 1x Guardian Support Platform - $25 CAD In game effectiveness: Middling Use with battleforce contents only: Mandatory. Points Value of box: (Guestimate of upper limit): 450 Total Combined Value: $160 Total Savings from MSRP of seperate items: $30 CAD. Total Savings if purchased from the United States: $60 CAD. Total Savings if purchased from Neil: $95. ========================== Final analysis: This battleforce is terrible. Giving you a "free" thing you are not going to use is almost the same as not giving it in the first place. It is unfortunate that the old box is discontinued. It was obviously too good a deal. Guardians (1.25 box): $45x1.25 = $56.25 Bikes: $16x3 = $48 Falcon: $50 Vyper Jetbike: $40 Jungle Trees: $16 Total Value: $210.25 I feel sad for Canadian independent retailers. You guys in the US might *female dog*, but how are our brick and mortar FLGS supposed to compete. Its obscene that the FLGS is essentially paying US MSRP price to STOCK GW product. Battleforce / Battalion: $90USD / $130CAD - Savings of 30% from the US Skull Pass: $45USD / $75CAD - Savings of 30% from the US Ogre Maneater: $15USD / $25CAD - Savings of 30% from the US. GW expects them to push their product, but then they put out unplayable "deals" such as this. If anybody showed up at a game with the Eldar battleforce contents, they are pretty much guaranteed to loose. That's an investiture of $160 CAD before tax for the codex and the battleforce, discounting paints, brushes, glue and other sundry items. This is not to mention the Imperial Guard battleforce which assembles into an illegal army and requires another Guard squad box to be playable. That's a cheap $200 CAD to start! Don't forget the FANTASTIC Necron battleforce here in Canada, where it is cheaper to buy the seperate components than it is to buy the battleforce! GW. Value through less product for the same money. You go guys! No wonder Privateer is eating into their profits.

Guardians $35 Wave Serpent $40 Walker $20 ? half a box of Dire Avengers $15 Total $110
Not too bad of a deal for $90.00 and it has the potential to sell more than 1 to a given customer if your interested in multipule Serpents and walkers.

15 plastic models, a walker and a 10-year old chunky POS of a plastic kit for 80 euros? You gotta be kidding me. And to think that plastics were supposed to result in "affordable" armies.

"Don't forget the FANTASTIC Necron battleforce here in Canada, where it is cheaper to buy the seperate components than it is to buy the battleforce!"
Unfortunately, the Canadian website is currently showing the wrong battleforce. But about 2 months ago GW Canada started selling the Necron Battleforce MKII, which contains
28 Warriors ($90 + 4 extra Warriors) 3 Destroyers ($90) and 7 Scarab Swarms (1 free swarm)
Here's the link to the US website, which contains the proper battleforce:
http://store.us.games-workshop.com/storefront/store.us?do=List_Models&code=301613&orignav=300847&ParentID=258435&GameNav=10
So priced at $180 component wise, saving the customer $50 retail, plus some extra models too. Good gaming!

What the heck is that?
But, hey, i've should have expected that just because that are the new plastic kits/newly done plastic kits and you can have multiple of them, so...
Won't buy any of those for sure!
Who needs more Guardians anyway?

The two big army boxes are good starter kits, but they are significantly more expensive. The NEW battleforces in 40k are not effective add-on kits, nor are they effective starter kits. I really don't know what to make of this.

The Tyranid Battleforce is excellent. I just recently got 3 of those from the US (AUD$150 here, AUD$120 if I get them from the US - after shipping I'm still saving money). 1 HQ, 3.5 Troops, 1 Heavy Support per box (the .5 troops comes from Rippers) You get three of them and with a bit of creativity you can turn a Carnifex into a Hive Tyrant (did it yesterday - and it's taller than the current GW metal Tyrant), giving you a Hive Tyrant, 9 Warriors, 24 H-Gaunts, 24 T-Gaunts, 24 'Stealers, 7 Ripper Bases and 2 'Fexes. BYE

So all you'll need is 48 pairs of spinefists from battlewagon bits and some modeling skill to turn those warriors into ravenors and you've got a competitive army!

@ Keezus Have you seen the Space Marine Battleforce MKII? It's pretty darn good as an add on or start up (minus the HQ choice.) 15 Tactical Marines ($45 + $25) 5 Scouts ($35) 1 Rhino ($45) 5 Assault Marines ($45) = $195 retail.

They sell 5 assault marines for $45?! Sweet Jesus! And people complain about the terminators. At least the models are bigger and cool. So, what you're spending like $25 for some plastic jetpacks? To hell with that. A unit of Bloodclaws and a sack of Jump Packs is like $50 and then you've got ten jump packers with bp and ccw. Stupid! So stupid!

Clarance: Wouldn't that be the Marine battleforce MKIII? MKI: 5x old Terminators, Landspeeder, 10x Tac Marines, 3 Bikes, Gothic Ruins MKII: 15x Tac Marines, Command Squad, Razorback MKIII: 15x Tac Marines, Scouts, Razorback, Assault Marines While the -new- MKIII is good value, the MKII is of questionable value (and was released at Space Marine Launch). MK1.5 10x Grey Hunters, 10x Bloodclaws, 1x Rhino, 3x Bikes MK2.5 15x Tac Marines, 1x Command Squad, 1x Rhino, 3(4?)x Templar Sprue And then there is the MK2.5 (splash or otherwise) for worst value... as it comes with less playable models than the MKII battleforce, for more money. The Eldar Battleforce contains $160 CAD worth of stuff for $130 CAD. - The usefulness of the Waveserpent and Warwalker in a "constructed" Eldar army is questionable, therefore, I'm not sure what you're saving if you don't intend on using those items. HBMC: The Tyranid Battleforce contains $167 CAD worth of stuff for $130 CAD. If you do not plan on using all the genestealers, as soon as you discount them from the box-set, the price approaches a wash (i.e. even value against MSRP). The fact of the matter is that even if GW packaged Eldar heavy support weapons as 3 guns for $70CAD - a fantastic price rebate, I'm unsure how many takers because they don't have a place in most armies. IMO, paying for something you won't use even if it is cheap isn't a deal all.
