So, I never knew where the rules for armored companies were till I found it right on the
GW site .. And since I don't have a ton of guys and I'm already building a tank-heavy army using the codex rules.. I think I may give this a shot.
So I have some questions..
1 - is it too over the top? I mean, seriously, an army of all tanks.. I know a lot of armies won't be able to take em all out. Will I get beat up if I show up at a tourney with all tanks? I'm not a win at all costs type and actually games where I annihilate the other guy or vise versa just aren't fun. I'd rather get a draw every time and have a fun & challenging game. So basically, this this kinda army way too cheesey for most games?
2 - About unit selection ... I need a command tank, and aces... they can then be paired with 2 troop-choice tanks, and I can pick 2 troop tanks per command/ace tank, up to a max of 6 (which is the max for troop choices)? And do they have to stick together in any way? I saw someone mention a tank platoon before, just wondering. So basically a command tank and 2 aces would get me my 6 troop tanks. I'm kinda thinking I'd never have enough points (and cash) for all that, but still
3 - Are guardsmen worth it in an armored company. Since I have em, I could do an armored fist unit here or there...
4 - What are some good army compositions in general? So far in my guard collection for tanks I just have 2 hellhounds, 1 basilisk and 1 generic russ.. so I'd need to invest in a lot more...
5 - Since I already have the models and was planning it for my regular guard army, would it be worth it to have an inquisitor and assassin buddy floating around? I can give him a tank as well of course..
so any thoughts?
