Uh-oh. I'm at it again. Been playing Stranger's Wrath and GUN on the Xbox, and with a heavy dose of 40k....

Wild West -hammer!
Where there are no Armor Saves. Or, at least they're very rare. I mean, can't rule out Jesse James.

Wpn            Rng Str AP Notes
6gun           12    3    -   Pistol(Revolver)
Shotgun     12    4    -   Assault 2 (you will fear the shotgun again!!!)
Repeater    24   4    -   Rapid FIre(no two shots though)
Musket         24   5   -   Heavy 1(for the whole "3 shots a minute" thing)
Cannon      48   6   5   Heavy 1, Blast
Gatling       36   4   6   Heavy 3
TNT              -     8   3   Blast(Run up, set down, run away.)
Bow            18   4    -   Assault 1

Units
Settler- Conscript
Gunslinger- Guardsman
Native- Guardsman w/ Move Through Cover and Infiltrate

Squads
Posse 5-20 models
Weapons: One selection from the Smithery.(I'll work out the points later.)
Option: The entire unit may be upgraded with Horses at $10 a piece. A six man team can be upgraded with a Wagon or Stagecoach at their respective prices. Two models may combine to purchase a Cannon or Gatling.

Raiders 10-15 Natives
Weapons: Bow. Can be switched with a melee wpn for free.
Options: Upgrade with Horses @ $10 a model, and/or one choice from the Smithery at double the cost (to show lack of tech).

Any help would be welcomed. Criticisms go in through the back door (just kiddin').

You do know that GW produced a western game, right?

I play (click on icons to see pics): DQ:70+S++G(FAQ)M++B-I++Pw40k92/f-D+++A+++/areWD104R+T(D)DM+++
yakface's 40K rule #1: Although the rules allow you to use modeling to your advantage, how badly do you need to win your toy soldier games?
yakface's 40K rule #2: Friends don't let friends start a MEQ army.
yakface's 40K rule #3: Codex does not ALWAYS trump the rulebook, so please don't say that!

Bloddy fscking hell! NO I did NOT buy it. I RENTED it.
As with Stranger's Wrath and any other game I play.
I don't have money (thus the reason why I'm home brewing another fscking game based off of 40k.)
Being jobless sucks.

The Hammer

(vaguely on topic)

WS - keep
BS - keep
S
T
W everyone'd be human so you could dispense with these
I - keep
A - keep
LD - keep
SV - could easily be dispensed with except for cover

Sample units:

militia, bandits, deputies
WS I A LD
2    2 1 7
sheriff, desperado
WS I A LD
4    4 3  8

for weapons - no need for S or AP as such, just modify the ROF/accuracy.
because of short ranges, overwatch would probably make agood rule.

generic ideas:
untrained musket - assault .1, 9"/heavy .1, 15", BS1
trained musket - assault .25, 9"/heavy .25, 15", BS1 (UK drill and such counts as twin-linked when stationary)
mussel-loading rifle - heavy .1, BS variable (2 to 4) range variable (18"/24"/30"
nadelgewehr - heavy 1 27", assault .5 18", BS variable (2 to 4)
chassepot - heavy 1 at long range/assault .5 at close range, for BS=2,3,4, ranges close/long:
18"/27", 21"/33", 24"/36"

for periods that used close order heavy infantry - all shooting uses a blast marker
all to wound rolls are 4+

if you're REALLY tough you've got FNP.

When soldiers think, it's called routing.

The original idea was to keep the regular 40k rules and simply add in a couple units and tid bits for a western style game.

Although, your style looks good. I'd have to get used to a different style of rules, but I think it could work.

No man, being jobless doesn't suck. It has it's good and bad like anything. For example you actually have time to play video games.

Drano doesn't exactly scream "toy" to me.
