OK, I am finally play testing my Eldar.  So far I have done 2 games.  One at 1,000 points in which I brutally destroyed my enemy, and one at 1,500 in which I felt I needed a doll to show where the bad man touched me.  So here are the 3 lists I have scaling from 1k to 2k.

HQ- Autarch: Mandiblasters, F.Pike, P.Weapon

Elite- Bansheesx5 w/ Exarch:Mirrorswords

Troopsx2- 10 Guardians w/ Conceal/ Spear/ Spiritseer locks and a scatter laser

Troop- Dire Avengersx7 w/ exarch bladestorm S.shield and P.Weap

Heavy- Wraithlord: BL and Starcanon

Heavy-Falcon:  Starcanon and ShuriCanon  Holo, and Stones

The game I played at 1k was a slaughter, I wiped his GK w/ stormtroopers from the board in a loot misson and gave up just 148VP.

For the 1,500 list add the following

HQ- Eldrad

Elite- The Banshees become 10 strong and add a WS w/ Scatter and Shuricannon S.Stones

Elite- 5 Fire Dragons

Troop- Add 1 more Dire Avenger to the squad.

This game was from an old WD my buddy wanted to try.  I got slammed because the set up was a like a diagonal with only 18" between you and your foe on a 4x6 table.  He infiltrated sniper scouts behind me because the way the table worked there would be that kinda room behind your deployment zone... so I sorta fell for the whole trick lol.  Well actually his whole army infiltrated except for a land speeder, plus he dropped Shrikes wing in for a little dance.  He got first turn and punched so many sniper rounds into my banshees that I was down to two, ran shrike into a guardian sqaud and cleaned em up and fired enough bolter and sniper shots into my DA to nearly wipe them.  The game was over first turn really, but I played it through until it was not even a snowballs chance in hell of a win.

So the last list I have I am going to test out tomorrow either as a rematch against the above RG army, or against some Khorne Berserkers.

Elite- give the Fire Dragons a flamer Exarch but drop one regular dragon

Troop- put the DA to a full 10 and add defend

Troop- Add another guardian squad but the lock only has conceal no other upgrades

Fast- add a Vyper with shuricannon and scatter laser

Heavy- add another wraithlord like the first

Also I added a few more upgrades to the tanks just to fill out points.

All in all my general goal in the same bring the guardians up as a fire base with the wraithlord or lords and a strong center, rush the DA up one side to unload a wad of shuriken goodness. <in the 2k points the 3rd guardian squad goes with the DA> Banshees ride on in to soften whoever I can get to, the dragons ride the falcon with the autarch to take care of nasty vehicles or tough to kill troops like termies.  Eldrad plays babysitter to the guardians.  Vyper adds some nice shots where needed.  I know that was a long post but I appreciate any willing to read it and give me some advice.

I really like the Wraithlords and dont wanna drop them from more falcons, though I may add a squad of war walkers to switch out one of the other heavies for from time to time.  Also I love the banshees, and I feel that with them in a serpent they just kick butt.

you left the banshees in the open? who did you get the wave serpent for? Sounds like the one game was on account of bad rolling and deployment. I suggest trying it again and see how it goes. Mirrorswords are fun but the S5 executioner ensures you actually get some kills against T4.

Since I think it only fair, I'll post the actual mission. From WD # 287, December 2003. This is a 40k tournament scenario called "INTO THE NIGHT".

Overview: Two armies have been pounding on each other all day. Neither has been able to get the upper hand. Now darkness is falling and battle continues into the night.

Special Rules: Obstacles, Infiltrators, Prelim-Bombardment, VP's, Night Fight*

Night Fight rules are not in effect at the beginning of the game. Instead at the beginning of turn 3 roll a d6. On a roll of 6+ the sun has set and the remainder of the game uses the night fighting rules. Follow this every turn until the sun has set increasing the die roll by +1. I.E. - Turn 4 = 5+; Turn 5 = 4+; Turn 6 = 3+.

Setup:
1 - After setting up terrain, both players roll a number of dice equal to their Strat-Rating and select the highest die.
2 - The higher scoring player may select the corner in which he will deploy his troops.
3 - Starting with the player who chose his DZ, players alternate placing obstacles.
4 - The player who did not select his DZ then places his first selection. Players alternate placing selections until all forces are deployed.
5 - Infiltrators...
6 - Prelim-bombard

Roll off for first turn, game is 6 turns.

4' x 6' table - the DZ is really weird...

Yea AZTRAL forgot about that and was kicking himself really badly mid turn 2.

I think a replay of this scenario is definitely in order. Not to sound rude AZ, but I would like to see a better fight and I know you're capable of it.

As far as the serpent goes yes its for the banshees but I dont always start them insides the transport for fear of it getting blown up with them insides and I try to use it as a shield from enemy fire if I dont get turn one.... sadly I didn't expect snipers BEHIND me lol.  And yes I forgot about divination... I wanted to kick myself hard for that.

Played a take and hold tonight against SoB, at 1,000pts.  I tried mixing the list up a bit.

HQ- Eldrad

Elite-9 banshees,1 exarch, mirrorswords, warshout, waveserpent with TL scats shuricannon, and stones

Troop- 10 guardians w/ spearlock with conceal and spiritseer, scat laser platform

Troop- 9 dire avengers, 1 exarch w/ shim shield and PW, bladestorm

Heavy- Wraithlord BL and ML

redeployed very well and swept in from the flank.  Played a dancing game moving up and back as needed to get a few shots off but not get into charge range for his seraphim.  banshees in the serpent with eldrad crushed his right flank and then pushed in hard.  Kept a strong base of fire w/ the wraithlord, guardians and DA slowly whittling him away until I could move in fast to pummel him with enough shurikens to make a thousand ninja's jealous.  His inquisitor's head blew up due to my runes of warding, and by the end he was wiped from the board to a man, and I only gave up 94VP.
