I'd like to see a unit of BS3 orks. Does anyone think it would be overpowered if say shoota boys cost a point more and had BS3, with slightly more expensive special weapons to make up for it? Maybe drop the weapon skill by a point too?

Can anyone give me a reason why not to? The current BS2 for everyone except Nazdreg is a bit silly in my opinion.

Well, other than the feral list....

Yeah, but with the basic ork list.
Was the feral list really that broken? I thought the biggest problem was all the squiggoths and whatnot.

It seems quite reasonable to have some elite shooty Orks at BS3 for extra cost.

We're not very big on official rules. Rules lead to people looking for loopholes. What's here is about it.

Or just make regular Orks BS3 all around. It works out fine in Fantasy.

If you left them at the current cost though they'd be a better gunline than gaurd.
S4 AP6 rapid fire at BS3 with 3 support weapons at cheap prices would be very, very powerful. And they'd still be okay in assault.
So I'd say put them up by a point or so, drop the WS down to 3 and you might have a winner.

no way. I would never give up my WS4. Orks are for close combat and I infd it to be very in the spirit and theme of the army that they can't shot. BS 3 is only something for special units, I would say posaz and the big mek, but nothing else.

kommandos should get bs3. other than characters, that should be it imo

Fine with me. They used to be BS3 in 2nd edition, so I have no objection. Leave 'em with WS4, though.

It was introduced as a theme in 3rd edition yeah, but just because the third edition codex has been around obscenely long doesn't make it the only way to do orks.
BS3 WS3 shoota boys make a lot of sense for 9-10 points a pop, and then you still  get your BS2 WS4 shoota boys. It just adds some variety into the army, that's all.
BS3 grots make a lot of sense to me.
