As I was brousing through my local hobby store I found three VERY cheap models on discount. A 1/72 scale B-2 bomber for $7, a 1/48 scale B-2 bomber for $12, and a 1/48 scale ME 163 for $9. All of these models are cool and I would like to use them in 40k, but I don't know as what. any suggestions? Oh, and for those not familiar with WWII german aircraft, here is a pic of an ME 163

the Me-163 is saying giant grot bomb thing to me. that 1/48 scale B-52 has got to be huge!! i had the 1/72 B-52 model when i was a kid (i'm not telling how long ago that was) & i remember it had a wingspan well over 2ft. for that cheap i'd say it's worth it for the jet engine parts for some type O-flyer & the landing gear parts for walker conversions. i hope that sparked something good luck!!

To me, that just says.... KITBASH! Maybe some sort of Valkyrie-like gunship thingy. And the Me-163 is definitely a grot-bomb.

it latches on to the first idea to come along, good or bad; and it takes strenuous effort with a crowbar to make it let go.

hey , today i was thinking that flight deck (cockpit) on that 1/48 scale B-52 has got to be pretty big , that would be a good for ineriors w/all the radar screens & seats. that fusalage cut up & mounted just right on a base would be cool terrain like the stuff from the mcragg set.
man do i need a social life!!

I say it screams Orks, they've always seemed to have modern day (in this case, WWII) aircraft as their arsenal, whereas Imperials tend to go a little higher-tech. Just replace all missiles with stormboyz or grotz holding some sort of explosive device, and you're set. - Oaka Edit: I don't know if the Deathkopta rules are actually still valid or not, but how cool would it be to have these aircraft sitting 1 foot above the table coming down to a small base just to represent koptas? Sweet.

Basically use them as flyers, depending on how big they are when completed you can decide as what, I used 1/48 scale tanks, they were the size of baneblades and 1/48 warthogs as flyers

1/48? isn't that too small for WH40K? I was going to use some 1/35 Tanks and Helicopters for my Infinity Ariadna army.....I think they might work well for WH40K as well?

1/48 is actualy too large for 40k, as the figures are close to 1/56 in scale. Weapons of course are supersized, reaching 1/32 scale, or larger. However, since the figures have a base, 1/48 vehicles look pretty good with the figures despite being "too large". 1/35 will be huge, and should be avoided, unless you are thinking about building superheavies.
