Hi,

was going to do some custom work on a vinyl model kit but just wanted to be sure that acrylic paint can be used on it.  is there any special treatment i need to do to it?  any help would be great,....its been awhile since i built a kit of this nature.  thanks

Only use acrylic on a vinyl kit. Oil based paints (laquer, enamel, and oils) will never fully dry - they will always be a little tacky - and in some cases will attack the vinyl.

I always cleaned the pieces before painting with a tepid water and just a little soap. For a base coat/primer I airbrush right on the vinyl. Most primers are oil based, and acrylic seems to stick just fine to clean vinyl.

Hope that helps.

Well  you need too   wash the vinyl in  a   mild   soap( something that get out oil) and then prime it and let it  set for a   day or  so... will come out   fine ( Ive done a    few  vemons and  caranage models)
