According to my local store. Apocalypse deal sets are only being made to fill pre-orders. After that, they're gone.

Which makes sense. If you buy these items you're getting a savings. They're not going to last long. How long did 13th Crusade get supported? How about City Fight? Those items are all shut down now.

You'll be able to buy the rule book/templates/dice from here on out. This really isn't a big deal.

Are you saying that all Apocalypse support is one delivery only, or just the special deals?  Honestly, I don't think that many people expected the special deals to be a long-term thing.

My impression was that Apocalypse rules support would continue beyond the initial release with more datafaxes and such.

let's put it this way.

I'll be surprised....

They launch Apocalypse... kill the deals within minutes...

so much for anyone new getting on the band wagon.. play drops off.. so does any chance of GW supporting it further...

They will eventually drop the current box deals but it would surprise me greatly if it didn't rotate into new ones later anyway. Its all the same stuff, just in bigger boxes. Sell the big boxes until anyone that wants one has one then stop selling the box and sell a different one. Seems pretty standard to me.

Probably the same as Kill-team, Combat Patrol and COD. Which is to say, occasional, sporadic and brief.

your impression is correct.  The OP is only referring to the army deals that are currently being sold.

Oh, those.  They're splash releases.  I doubt I'll even lay eyes on one, let alone buy one.

I thought that it was common knowledge that almost all of these new kits (aside from the baneblade, spacy vets and chapter masters) were splash releases set for direct only. This isn't really a new thing for them and honestly most stores don't have shelf space for 20 new giant box sets on top of regular stock.

I thought that some of these were splash, but some were to stick around for a bit longer?

The new models will stick around. The boxes full of old models (including the Land Raider Terminus, which is a kitbash of LR, Predator, and Razorback sprues) are splash releases.

Its a game in the same scheme as every year. Its a scenario based campaign that affects the GW universe

Based on a planetary assult, this years " Cadian Gate" has something to do with large system wide assults where you will be told that you will affect the 40k universe. There will be some web support, a nice background book, etc, see the progression of the war on the interactive map, send in your results for your participating store, and watch your army grow and do what they do best, attack your pockets.
Finally, both sides will stalemate and the system will be engulfed by the warp, asimilated by the tyranids, or be sucked into a black hole.

At Games Workshop, we believe that how you behave does matter. We believe this so strongly that we have written it down in the Games Workshop Book. There is a section in the book where we talk about the values we expect all staff to demonstrate in their working lives. These values are Lawyers, Guns and Money.

Most of those deals are splash releases. They make thousands of them per country, some will sell out quicker, some have a lot more made. When they are gone, they are gone. I'd expect that possibly some of the new stuff, like chapter masters will be around a lot longer, but things like the 10 Lemun Russ won't have a huge amount made.

Save your money, buy what you want, over extend the credit card, ask for them for Christmas. If you want them, get them now. You need to put them all together and get them on the board before my 10k in Speed Freeks runs you over.)

You cannot expect hobby stores(many of which are incredibly small and crunched for space) to have stock of boxes of 10 Russ tanks, or entire companies of Marines. I am suprized they send them to stores at all and not direct shop them to houses.

I think the 3-tank boxes will stay around for a while, but the big giant company box sets will be a 1 time kinda thing. Ya never know they might bring em back every once in a while if the Apocalypse really takes off

What exactly is your point?  They do splash releases for just about every release.  Just like the terrain and cities of death.  Your original post makes no sense.  How does that relate to not supporting apocolypse?

The Complete Space Marine company is not new. GW had it running for a while on the the online shop under the Ultramarines section....only it was about £550!!!

I will try to get at least two Companies.....imagine that two complete companies charging into battle!!!

At GD LA the representative from GWUS said that all the deals splash releases, but, as many of them are only plastic, if they sell well they will look at releasing them again. So if we all buy lots of them we'll be able to buy more of them in the future.

A year ago the Imperial City CoD box was only splash release and its being released again for Apoc.

I guess it depends on what is meant by 'support'. Usually, with GW, this is a conversation about models: will GW continue to support Steel Legion/Vostroyans/Dark Eldar is a conversation about whether they'll keep pumping out the models.

With Apocalypse, I think it gets muddier. Certainly there are new figs being released (the Ogryn, The Necron Lord), but for me (granted, I'm not Necros or Blackheart) but I thought I'd butt in anyway) support would mean continuing to release scenarios, hobby articles etc. either through WD and/or their website/Black Gobbo.

Exactly the only "apocolypse only" model so far is the baneblade so splash release or no splash release has nothing to do with GW supporting the new rules.  From what we have heard there will most likely be new data sheets available through things like white dwarf (might be a good reason to get a subscription finally).  So I am wondering where the angst from the original post is coming from.

It isn't like you aren't going to be able to get a land radier six months from now...... or wait are they going to discontinue these??? Let me know if anyone has heard a rumor.

BTW - I guess the new land raider is probably actually an apocolypse only model too so that makes two.  But other then that I am pretty sure you can use the chapter masters as captains or other heroes like veteran sergeants and what not.

Are you saying apocalypse specific box sets will dissappear only 6 months after release?

It all depends on how many they make, and how fast people buy them.  They are doing one production run of  the Apocalypse multiple vehicle boxes.  After they're gone, they're gone.

What does this mean? Do we get our larger orders in now to save $$$? (Tank boxes, Companies etc)

Is the LR Terminus going to be always available?

Does anyone know what it is armed with?

Arcs of fire?(It just seems the rear Sponsons on the side would have to shoot through the front ones).

The fire arc for sponson weapons is shown on page 64 of the rulebook.

Whether or not the weapons on the model are actually capable of moving through the same arc is irrelevant, so far as the rules are concerned.

Terminus can be made just from getting a landraider and a sprue or two if the kit goes away. Predator sponsons  mounted lower and in front of the TL ones. Another TL in place of the heavy bolter. Not tough to do.

No.  It's also a splash release.  It's made entirely from existing sprues, however, so anyone could make one.  Heck, you could make one now if you wanted to!  You just need a land raider kit, lascannon sponsons from a predator, and a lascannon turret from a razorback.
