Here's another sweet battle report, put together by the same guys. I like Clouds over Al-Hayde better, but the scene in the end of the DogWarrior leaping into the center of two enemies with two chairifles shooting to each side is quite cinematic! Now I see why Infinity sculptors put their figures in action poses!

Red Dawn. Ariadna Duel.


 
More and more, as the rest of the Human Sphere discovers the vast Teseum resources on Dawn, the Ariadna people have sought protection from these pirate corporations who care only for the metals in the earth and nothing for the people above them. Yet, the overwhelming outside interest has also created an unprecedented boom for the people of Dawn, who struggle to keep pace with demand while maintaining control of there own operations. In this unchecked and lucrative situation it should be expected that corruption and extortion are rife. Armed factions of Ariadna soldiers vie for the right to "protect" and collect payments from the emerging establishments.
In the frontier establishments between Matr and Gökburgo, the self-interest of two armed
Cossacks groups have made a bloody collision imminent.



Babe wins the initiative and dictates that Lex should deploy his troops
on the table first .

LEX's 200 point Ariadna army:

- 6 Kazaks .

- 1 Tankhunter.

- 4 Galwegian.

- DogFace/DogWarrior.

- Scout Sniper.

- PARACOMMANDO HMG.


Seeing  all
Lex's troops (less one) on the table, Babe decides to deploy his army .

BABE's 200 point Ariadna army :

- 3 Kazaks .

- DogFace/DogWarrior.

- PARACOMMANDO HMG.

- Antipodes + Controller

- Foxtrot.

- Foxtrot with light grenade launcher.

- Tankhunter with Autocanon.




Lex wins the 2nd initiative and he chooses to begin attacking.
9 regular orders, 5 impetuous, 5 Irregular, 1 Paracommando, and 1 Lieutenant.
An impetuous Scotsman advances while throwing smoke to cover the reaction of a Kazak that is in prone position  high
in a building.

Lex
contains the impulses of the rest of his impetuous troops by  spending his irregular order on it.




After leaving the smoke, a foxtrot discovers him shooting the Scotsman. A critical impact inflicts an automatic wound to the Galwegian that now should spend the orders to take advantage of dogged ..



The tenacious Scotsman attacks
his target with anger, but the Foxtrot is able to avoid the chainrifle fire  and goes prone, outside the line of fire .




Prisoner of an irrational fury, the Galwegian dedicates his fire against the Cossack  in front of him. This troop decides to shoot back, trusting in his cover to deflect the impact of the chainrfile.



The courage of the Cossack succeeds. The Galwegian dies and the Cossack avoids the damage of the chainrifle .

Suddenly, a Scout sniper throws back his camouflage to shoot the fortunate Cossack that had just survived the Galwegian attack .The shots are good and lethal but, when now discovered, numerous troops of Babe decide to react to the offense that the Scout has done to them.



A Foxtrot, with cover from the interior of a building, comes out of his camouflage to shoot the Scout, an armed Tankhunter is also discovered with an Autocannon. Both discharge their fury, but fail. Their positions are at a range that is not good for the weapons that they use.



Bold to have survived, the Scout, aware of his advantageous position and his rifle is a good range, shoots without fear of the dangerous Tankhunter. He is able to knock down him and survive their reaction ( Foxtrot and Tankhunter).


It is now that the Foxtrot, knowing that his weapon won't be been able to impose on the sniper's rifle, decides to dodge the fire instead of engaging in face to face. The decision saves his the life. .


Without an objective and only a few orders, the Scout decides to go back into hiding  .



It is now Babe's turn, after the Scout decimated his lines...

4 regular orders, 1 Impetuous, 2 Irregular, 1 Paracommando, and 1 Lieutenant.


Babe sends this Antipodes after the insidious sniper. The wolves advance in camouflage, but their super-jumping advance reveals the troop that hides in the camouflage.



In a couple of agile maneuvers, the wolves arrive at the sniper, but being camouflaged, they still cannot attack him directly.



The sharp smell of the beasts and their "sensor" allows them to easily discover the enemy's fear. Being three animals they can attempt it 3 times in the same Order.



In an unequal fight that even a TAG would not be able to overcome, the Scout demonstrates endurance by surviving the first lunge, but his fall is question of time.


Babe 's Dogface advances for another area of the map and with this shift, he finishes.

Lex: 8 regular orders, 4 impetuous, 4 Irregular, 1 Paracommando, 1 Lieutenant.

The impetuous order of the Galwegian forces him to advance towards the nearest enemy miniature, Lex makes sure his temperamental Scot is pointed  at the backs of some downy animals.



With a minor expense of orders, Lex's DogFace rises with a jump up to the cornice of the building and eliminates both remaining beasts with his Chainrifle..


The rest of Impetuous and irregulars advance up the map with the knowledge that the Scout cleaned the zone of troublesome enemy lines of fire. The Scots of Lex cover the left side of the table, chainfrifles would finish any meddlesome paracommandos with ease.



Lex places his Paracommando with HMG on Babe's straight flank. The Paracommando cannot open fire against the Foxtrot since he is situated prone, but then decides to use his fire on t
he back of Babe´s DogFace.


The first wound exasperates the DogFace and makes him to transmute into a beast named DogWarrior , with better characteristics.
The first impact allows the creature to face the Paracommando and go after a slight cover.


He can react to the new blast of the Paracommando, but the Dogwarrior refuses the  face to face fire with his chainrifle and chooses to throw a smoke grenade to his feet. He succeeds at frustrating the Paracommando.



Then ends Lex's orders.

Babe's shift: 4 regular orders, 1 Impetuous one, 1 irregular one, 1 Paracommando, and 1 Lieutenant.

After avoiding the attention of the Paraommando with another smoke grenade, the Dogwarrior crosses a control building with great speed, completely ignoring the lucky reactions of the surrounding Cossacks


With 2 wounds in the body, the Dog Warrior's fury comes out against every Cossack in his scope, being exposed to the enemy fire without any fear or doubt. The multiple AROs of enemies do not manage to put a stop to him and his advance becomes a decisive moment.



In a rash maneuver, the heroic DogWarrior exposes himself with a super-jump that allows him to shoot two Cossacks simultaneously with his 2 chainrifles.



One of two Cossacks affected by the chainrifles is Lex´s Lieutenant , but this one manages to overcome the damage of the weapon and kills the Dogface with his reaction. It has been close...



With the rest of his orders, Babe orders  his Foxtrot with grenade-launcher to perform speculative fire on the enemy Paracommando. The difficulty of the shot brings no success and the Paracommando t
he attacks unhurt.

 Lex's shift: 7 regular orders, 4 impetuous, 4 irregular and 1 of Lieutenant.

The Paracommando , survivor of the Foxtrot's assaults, obtains line of fire to a Cossak. Killing her with his blast achieves the breaches the threshold that will make Babe's troops enter Retreat and, at the same time, finish the enemy lieutenant.



Babe accepts the defeat and it spreads the hand to Lex in sign of respect.

The battle concludes and the winner is Lex and the gangs of Ariadna. Lex informs the tenants and owners of the local mining organization of their new "protection tax."<strong />
