Wrote up yet another list, has some power element, but also things I like to use. Tried to work in a looted vehicle, but just cant justify the points in a competative list.

I feel it has a strong fire base in 2 units of lootas, backed up by the KFF from the mek, and the slugga boyz in the trukk hanging back to counter attack stuff coming for them from deepstrike, infiltrate, ect. Lobbas are suprisingly useful, if not as kill units, as table quarter contesters, as you can hide them behind terrain all game. The warboss, meganobz, storm boyz, and 2 squads of shoota boyz by themselves are almost enough to take even the most assault oriented armies in the game. My goal is to maxamize this list, mostly for tourney use as it has a high level of cheeze, cut the fat, and optomize it. Any suggestions?

Oh also, am I mistaken that most GT points lists in america are 1850? If its 1750 like I think I would have to adjust it more.

It was 1750 this year.

1. Why warbuggies over koptas? Koptas seem like a much better value to me.
2. 4 trukks and 40 bodies doesn't seem like it's going to cut the mustard. Just doesn't seem like enough wounds to me.

looks pretty good... isnt the warboss a bit vulnerable on his own for a reasonable amount of points? I mean, he is an IC but being on a bike he is probably going to be closest target a few times... having said that, throwing him forward to get him in combat quickly may be a good idea as he is pretty good at it... 7 attacks on the charge at s10??!! T6?? That should keep him alive for a while.. and may even make his points back! He'll lock a unit in combat if he fails to break them on the charge.

As regards a looted vehicle how about one with a boomgun, 2 big shootas, g riggers... thats it. pretty damn cheap! (I would print the points cost but ive heard thats not allowed). Yes, i know it can get blown up pretty easy but its not expensive and a big pie plate gun is always worth having imho. As for the stormboyz led by zagstruk... that is one useful unit! I think a large unit is a good idea in some ways (in order to soak up deaths from Zagstruk's morale rule, special assault from deep strike, general stormboy move etc) but may it struggle to get its point back?

Also, do artillery count as scoring units?

Looks a decent list though!

oh and i was also going to say something similar to mauleed... I think for 1850 it seems a fairly small army... in escalation you'll only have 2 units of lootas and the bigmek starting on the board which you could lose in one turn of shooting and if you are unlucky with your reserve rolls your trukks etc could come on piece meal and get picked off one by one. The deep striking stormboyz go some way into countering this in that they can get into action quite quickly. I say make the trukks quite stripped down; riggerz big shoota and maybe something like a boardingplank seems to be good enough and saves a few points. meganobz are very expensive too... i think it would be worth calling a waagh on the turn you really want to get them into combat. Perhaps take a huge foot boyz mob instead... maybe more cost effective?

But i still think its a dangerous list in many ways...
