Subject: Hordes rulebooks question

There are two rulebooks out for Hordes, and I was wondering if I needed to buy both of them? of are the units in the first rulebook reprinted in the second?
Also do they have anything like the packs of cards for the factions like I have seen for warmachine.

They don't have packs of cards yet. Probably after they do one more expansion.
Hordes: Primal has the basic rules set and the original releases. Hordes: Evolution has
rules for models they're releasing right now.
You only really NEED Primal to get a handle on the rules. The rules for each model
comes when you buy it, so if you want to try before you buy you might want to ask
around if people will let you borrow their cards or even ask on the PP Forums or here.

Primal gives you the basic rules, Evolution gives you the rules for Bonding and Cavalry, so if you plan on using any Cav or campaigns/leagues, you need both.
Also, according to the PP guys, there's no plans to do Hordes Faction Decks, as the Faction decks for Warmachines were to update the old cards to color(Mk. I) and to the Prime: Remix rules(Mk. II). So unless, they do a major rules update for Hordes, I doubt there will ever be Hordes Faction Decks, but you can get the cards individually through mail order.

Did they ever fix the shipping on those cards, though? They were
like regular shipping costs last time I tried to replace a card.

Thanks....let me ask a second question. My main problem with warmachine was that with the rules for warmachines, the game took a sharp turn away form warjack heavy armies. Hordes looks like it has better rules for not using units and still being able to do well, but is it feasable, to play all/mostly warbeasts/ single model charecters?

With the way fury works, you almost can't play hordes without some warbeasts in your
army, so I guess that's what ended up happening.
And with the way Focus works, it's not surprising that warmachine made warjacks
an afterthought. You can't run many warjacks on your limited focus, but you can run 1-2
warjacks really well if you want to.
btw: some of the solos in the game seem built to be included in certain types of
armies, so you'll have to be careful. An Ancestral Guardian, for example, requires
there to be other friendly models around to feed it soul tokens. Shepherds, on
the other hand, were made for warbeasts.
