Back in the day if I wanted to find particular bitz or just see what components made up a fig I could hit up the US Online Store and check it out. Now though it seems the store is vastly lacking. It's missing lots of selections, like individual exarchs and other blisters. Trying to check the bitz and compents shows nothing on most items, and only partials on others. What's going on there?

they stopped selling bits from new models for quite a while now. so that you don't just order the mega cool sucked in snotling from the SAG or the head of the Nurgle DP.

in case you haven't heard, they are currently completly repacking/ordering whatever their archives. if they should still have the bitz you want after that, you can only purchase it in special deals. I've seen a few in the new catalouge. there are rather smart ones, like a death watch upgrade pack, where you get 10 bolters, shoulder pats and whatever, which seems a lot more convinient then before.
On the other hadn, there are such fantastic ideas like "gothic scenerie" pack. so, if you want, I dunno, the candles from some old vampire model, you only get it together with several pieces of gothic architecture.

make from that, what you will.

I can only agree with the latest statement 100%. I used to order loads of bitz back at the good old days when you could buy pretty much every single little bit there was.

I have no idea if it cost too much for GW to sell bits that way, but I for sure know that I spent huge amounts of mone that way, and that after my initial purchases of plastics, most of my purchases were pure loads of bits.

It might seem strange, but that was the way I bought not only small bits, like an odd bolter, but whole miniatures as wll. For example, before the current IG snipers, I wanted an IG sniper squad instead of the Ratling. So I browsed through GW's different models and bought 10 different IG and SM Scouts to convert to snipers, and enough Vindicare rifles for them.

As of today, for me personally it os of course quite depressing to have to buy an entire Demonprince if the only part I want it the head...

The only solution I see is for everyone to hoard every last spare bit they can get their hands on and start a black market in parts.

Or go over to plastic bitz through someplace like BWBitz.

GW is still working on rolling out their new bits service so right now we are stuck in between systems.

It's not a recession folks. No need to panic.

Looks to me like I can cash in on it, if I find my caches of old models with interesting bits.
Or my big parts boxes.

Thats what happens when they run the buisness into the ground, then blaim everyone else for it.

At Games Workshop, we believe that how you behave does matter. We believe this so strongly that we have written it down in the Games Workshop Book. There is a section in the book where we talk about the values we expect all staff to demonstrate in their working lives. These values are Lawyers, Guns and Money.

I am suddenly glad that I did that final bitz order at the start of January. Got all the Deathwatch shoulder pads, chapter pads and Necromunda mini's I'll ever need!
