I haven't seen this posted else where so here goes.
I was looking through the GW US store today and noticed something different.
http://store.us.games-workshop.com/storefront/store.us?do=List_Models&code=300866&orignav=10&GameNav=10
If you look at the chaplains and Librarians you'll notice that its no longer one entry with "random model chosen."
Maybe this is the first step in compensating for the loss of the bits section?
Also check the witch hunters section, the Exorcist is back for $50.

Yes, I am so happy now that I get to choose my model instead of converting one. Now more wasting my brain cells on what bitzs I should buy to convert my new Lord into.
Thank you GW :0

Sorry, not quite. Only certain models are now non-randomized. Mostly they are HQs, advisers, heavy weapons or special types of characters. Most troop types are still random, including gangs.

You could get Exorcists before too for 50$. It took a year and a day, and you didn't get the instructions, but at least they were cool about emailing you a pdf of the instructions on how to put it together.

Wehrkind - Yes originally it was $50 but for a long time it was $75 for the metal bits and then you had a to buy a rhino.
I like how the tyrannic war vets are no longer randomized (nothing like getting 2 of 1 pose in a blister). I imagine this is the shape of things to come for other armies (as they've done it to tyranids as well).
Marines are the poster boy and all.
I never said this made up for getting rid of the bits only that it was GWs way of making up for it.

Well, now you're going to have to be creative with a more limited set of options. Think of it as a challenge.

i like how they are fancy pantsing it up
weren't the tyrannic war vets tyranid hunters before kind of funny.
of course i suck at fluff so this might be the same thing it just struck me as a more PC term
soon servitors will be calls "brain challenged war helpers"
and instead of the sisters of battle we now can call them any time

I've said it before and I'll say it again, using Dakka Swap Shop, Bartertown, and the Bitz sellers on ebay's going to be the way to go. Will it be more difficult? Yeah. Will it be harder to get the exact piece and the number of pieces we want? Yeah. But will we still be able to do it? Yeah.

About the Exorcist, and this is straight from calling GW. It's $50, but here's the deal. They charge you $40 for the Immolator, and then another $15 for the bits to go on top. Mind you that this is the newest Rhino.
Just watch for people trying to sell off the Exorcist for more than $50. Especially someone I met over on adeptuswindycity.com

Being able to order individual models is better than nothing I guess. Especially if it translates to the (currently useless) specialist games range. Having to buy a box to get more Juves is rediculous.

I noticed that there are actually MORE Mordheim models available than there were before the changeover.
