Guardsman with Flashlight

Made this pretty much to squeeze as many heavy weapons into the army as possible. There is no mobility and little with regards to fending off an assault, save a decent tar pit. Thoughts?

are you going for the artillery guard kinda back story? because then the basilisk makes sense but otherwise take a russ. the problem with the basilisks is on many boards you may not have enough space to hide the basilisks, and they are vulnerable to fire. just my two cents

Versteckt in den Schatten deines Geistes.

Grenade Launchers are junk. Replace them all with Plasma Guns.

Missile Launchers are junk. Replace them all with Autocannons.

It you ditch the three Missile Launchers in all the Command Sections (and you should, those units need to be hiding, not shooting), you get 45 points.

Of that 45, 6 points of it will go to making those 3 Grende Launchers into Plasma Guns. Then you have 39 points left. Here you have a choice.

If you ditch the Commissar (which is a good idea), you have 94 points. This gives you even more options.

It's a good list as far as structure goes - but MLs and GLs should never be in Guard armies. Replace them with weapons that are good (ACs and Plasmas), and remove all the shooty weapons from the Command Units, and the list will do well.

And take the Drop Troops Doctrine. It's free and there's no reason not to.
