Knew about the bitz trade in, but the box / blister trade in is new to me. Very cool, looks like I might trade a few things in in the near future ...

That's a better idea than accepting individual bit trade-ins.

I dunno. I'm pretty sure I could just find somone willing to pay those prices, or better, in cash for new in box items.

The credit prices aren't too bad at all. Especially since you can put it to whatever you want at the Warstore's discount prices.
Plus, it lets me unload a bunch of GW stuff I don't want FAST without having to rely on FEE-bay (time and money pit).
I can just see some of my basement shelves clear and ready to hold the latest batch of hobby stuff I can't get to

It's actually pretty interesting how much you can save at the Warstore if you buy a box at the 20% discount and then send in a whack of bits.

It's not a bad thing if you want to move stuff *NOW* without any hassles. Warstore buying is definitely convenient.

Wow, I can definitely make use of that Box Trade-In. Thanks for the info, KK.

Annnd it looks like I'm the first one to trade in a box
Two things stand out to me right now, though I have yet to talk to Neal about them:
1) You are reimbursed $3 for the shipping on bits but $0 for the shipping on NIB items. I spent $5.25 to ship my stuff, less the $3 I got for the bits in there, and I'm soaking $2.25. I can handle that, but something to keep in mind and possibly address on TWS's end.
2) Once your bits and boxes are processed you are issued a gift certificate only redeemable online AND that apparently expires 24 hours after it is issued. Again I've been scheming all weekend what I want to use the trade-in loot for, but fair warning to those looking to have credit just acrue.
Otherwise, easy process and I've got some shopping to do!

I'm glad you mentioned that 24 hour time frame. I was thinking about sending in a bunch of stuff I don't use so the credit was ready when the stuff I want came back in stock. That's harsh, it will mean I can't get my Deathwatch shoulder pads on credit because the sell out too fast to get stuff shipped to them.

It may be negotiable or extendible or such, but like I said I haven't talked to Neal about it as I'm ok this time around. Good point on the shipping time vs selling out of bits time problem.

I haven't traded in bits since BWB became part of warstore, but do the gift certificates for bits have such an expiration?

Well ... for the record I traded in both boxes and bits. BUT On a whim I checked the expiration date, and definitely have 8758 hours to use it. Years, bah! Sorry for the confusion / negative Neal press Still shopping furiously though - Salvage

So the certificate you thought was good for 24 hours is good for a year and 24 hours?

Bingo, only stipulation is that you have to use it online not over the phone. Get them bits and boxes a-rolling, and then settle down for some bits sniping.

Wait, so you can use bits gift certificates for everything BUT games workshop boxes (due to its phone-only nature)?

The online form has a bit where it tells you to write stuff in, and I believe specifically notes that's where GeeDub stuff goes. Fear not!

BTW, for anyone who had the same thought I did, I emailed Neal and found out: the WarStore booth at Adepticon will NOT be accepting trade-ins.
