So I've been wondering why it is that we cannot link people to places we've found on the net that can supply someone with a codex or rules? Also why can we not list specific point costs of miniatures. I'm not trying to cause any trouble but I'm just curious.

I think you can list specific points costs of miniatures as long
as you're discussing merits in an army list, tactics, etc. What
you can't do is basically provide a free version of the Army
Book or codex when somebody should be buying that
stuff from the company.

Malfred and Vandez are right. You can for example look at the MEq kill ratio per point of Tau Fire Warriors versus Vespid Swarms and this requires mentioning the points costs. There is a difference between that and listing the points for every unit in the Tau Codex.

We're not very big on official rules. Rules lead to people looking for loopholes. What's here is about it.

Legal issues aside, none of us want to give you something for free that you would otherwise pay for, because this hurts the companies that write the rules, none of which could be described as being on a particularly sound financial footing. Without the companies supporting the rules, the hobby is thrown into disarray, and we all end up playing Heroscape or something.

Yeah, if you like a game that looks like pants, has no storyline(Hey, we're all in Valhalla!) and has no cohesive theme even amongst "armies"(Ok, I have this WW2 guy armed with a sword and this chain mail wearing snake guy with a huge laser gun, they're led by my cyborg undead dragon).
