For ancients or other games, what minis do you use? I'm interested in
seeing photos of what you use and for what.
Just to clarify: I'm looking for swords and shields and the like. Sorry FOW
fans.

kinda, I often buy stuff from Black Tree Design but convert it for use in WFB or 40k. Their Zulu Wars minis made great Praetorians.

Any particular scale you're interested in, Malf? 15mm, 28mm or something else?

Our group does mostly historicals. We save WFB and 40K for off Saturdays. We meet every other Friday to play a couple of pre-arranged games. Everyone tends to contribute to an army and then we swap off who's playing on what side. I have units for several different armies including:
A tribe of 60 Pathans on foot and 12 Pathans on horseback for TSATF. All in 25mm by Old Glory.
26 Apaches for various Wild West games from Old Glory in 25mm. Also working on American forces for Creek Indian Wars in early 1800s. Waiting on Conquest miniatures for Seminoles.
1100pts of 10mm Viking ancients from Old Glory. Painting is in progress for these. There are about 5 armies in process within the group. We are going to play the campaign system this fall when everyone's armies are complete.
A smattering of Prussians (Essex) for AOR and some 25mm WW2 Brits (Crusader).
Then of course a host of FOW Africa armies, Iron Warriors & Orks for 40K and Vampire Counts for WFB.
If your interested in what we played recently here's the website: http://www.wfhgs.com

old glory are pretty reasonable. Theres alot of hit and miss in the ranges though. I have a ton of the medieval 25mm and the renaissance figs look nice. I dont like the napoloenics much tho.
Foundry are the GW of historicals, expensive but usually a nice perry sculpt.
I just got some of the perry's hundred years war figs(with joan of arc) and they are awesome!
dont have a complete historical army as of yet

I'll agree with what these guys have posted. Old Glory is good because you get a lot of minis for the price, but some of their ranges are mediocre. However, I really like their War of 1812 stuff, and their French and Indian War Indians. I think their stuff is more 25mm though, so might not be good for mixing with other (28mm) companies.
Foundry has nice stuff, for sure.
Perry Brothers have some awesome Crusaders (among other lines).
Artizan has some really nice WW2 stuff in 28mm.
Also, just to for a little diversity, Corvus Belli, Essex and Xyston have some great 15mm Ancients stuff.

I haven't used Black Tree, but the name conjures up memories of some really nice miniatures.

Trust me, no matter what damage they have the potential to do, single-shot weapons always flatter to deceive in 40k. Rule #1 - BBAP

Great club site!
At first I was interested in 15mm because I wanted to play
Hordes of the Things, but I couldn't find fantasy miniatures
that I liked in that scale. So now I'm curious about Ancients
in 28mm since there are probably more minis that I like
in that scale.

You could use Warmaster minis to play HotT. They're 10mm, if I remember correctly, but it wouldn't matter if you used the right sized bases (I know a lot of people do this for DBA, the Ancients equivalent for HotT).
