Well, after reading the new deamon codex I am rather impressed with Scarbrand. However, he is refered to as being the best bloodthirster Khorne ever made. I thought that title went to the Forgeworld Bloodthirster? I think this leaves only a couple possibities.

1. Scarbrand is no where near as powerful as he use to be due to the butt-whooping Khorne gave him.
2. The Forgeworld Bloodthirster is a "new and improved" replacement Khorne made to take over for Scarbrand.
3. GW and FW just don't reveiew eachother's fluff.

angraath is pretty much designed to be used in apocalypse, his stats reflect that. Scarbrand is for use within regular games.

I don't see how either of those replies address the issue the OP raises.

I would go for one to explain the fluff and three to explain the reality. On the one hand, it wouldn't surprise me that they forgot about An'ggrath when writing Skarbrand's fluff; on the other, I can see how an asskicking from Khorne himself (!!!) would probably take a lot out of you.

Lack of communication. That and I don't think much thought goes into the fluff anymore at all anyway.

I'm also offended by the lack of consistency in Chaos.

But it's Chaos, it's not supposed to be consistent.

Keep in mind, though, that Ang is listed as being a Daemon Lord. Seems to me that would be more than a simple bloodthirster... like a different category.
I don't have the new 'Dex. Does it list Scarbrand as a Daemon Lord?

That's a good point. He could be higher in Chaos's hierarchy than a mere Greater Daemon.

Man, maybe Skarbrand should have used Khorne's ax to kill Angrath instead of blindsiding Khorne. It probably would have put a smile on the Bloodgod's face. That would be interesting to see. Who would win in a fight, Angrath or Skarbrand boosted by having Khorne's ax?

I haven't seen the new Daemon book, what's the story on Skarbrand?
