Just finished him last night.

used the metal jump pack from the jump chappy instead of the plastic one he comes with

more pics of other minis to follow as I take the time to photograph them.

comments welcome

Good job making an awful mini presentable.

The mask bugs me, though. I think the eyes need a little more depth; also, it seems like you got red on to some bits that ought to be bone. I'm sure it looks fine on the table, but it sticks out in the close-up, if that matters to you. Lastly, I think you could use a finer brush for the purity seal scribblings. Again, no biggie.

hmm I didnt see that.. gotta love zoomed in pics. the red ink crept up the wall of his eye socket.

will touch up with a little bit of skull white.

honestly the shading on the skull doesn't really show as well in the photo.

all the bone was a basecoat of deneb stone, wash of watered down codex grey, 2 light coats of bleached bone, then a highlight of skull white.
matt varnish might have an effect there too.

thanks for the comment

Yeah, I didn't comment on the skull itself because it's obvious that the shading's been washed out in the photo. I was actually thinking more of the eye sockets, which look like a flat shade of red. Maybe that's the pic again, though.

I still need to hit them with some ardcoat, so I think I'll put a little chestnut ink or something down in the more recessed area while I'm touching up that red mark.

Thanks for the input

It might just be the picture washing out the colors on the skull, but it looks very plasticy to me. More definition would definately help

What about rimming the inner edge of the socket with black?
It would create a feeling of depth.

Also if you want to do finer purity seals may I suggest a micron pen. They're really awesome for doing seals and eyes.

yeah thats the only thing I regret on the model.. the lines on the seals are too big. but at a distance they stand out pretty good so thats ok.

good idea on the black rim, perhaps I'll give that a shot
