Okay, I have a Pretty decent Sisters of battle army and I decided to start up a Legion of the Damned as my first side army. So I figured I could use them together since the inquisitors can requisition forces, than I was reading the codex and it says, "Allied Space marines may not bwe used it any Adepta Sororitas units are present in the Witch Hunters Force." So Now I use a pretty pure witch hunters force, no storm troopers or anything so I can't use my marines. What is the point in this rule? I just don't really see the sense in it.

It was mainly a fluff thing (both SoB and Marines are supposed to be really rare and really hard-ass, so an Inquisitor would never need, or even be able, to requisiton both)

I think also it was partly to avoid cheesy builds (my sisters army has no lascannons, I'll take 2x 5-man SM squads with Lascannon as allies, problem solved!)

Remember though you can do it the other way - have a SM army with SoB as allies (as long as you take your compulsary HQ and troop choices from the marine list, you can add 0-1 HQ, 0-1 elites, 0-2 troops and 0-1 fast attack from your witch-hunters list)

Hope this helps.

Have you thought about the Axis of Evil pension scheme?

A new day, a new time zone.

SoB's have a pretty nasty short range game, especially with faith points figured in. However, they are very weak at range, with the Exorcist tank and multi-melta pretty much being all they've got. Combine them with marines, who have devastator squads, predator annihilators, and can take las and plas in their line squads and you've got an army that no longer has any sort of long range disadvantage.

Ah that makes sense, my Sisters army is overall pretty weak so I didn't think about it. I guess I'll just build up my marines a bit more than do it that way

In a few months you'll be able to get a LOT of cheap, snap-together Space Marines. Just look in the trades forum.

Trust me, no matter what damage they have the potential to do, single-shot weapons always flatter to deceive in 40k.                                                                                                       Rule #1

Legion of the damned will be a unit choice in the new marine codex so maybe a whole army of them isnt needed.

I know they will be a unit choice, but I like the fluff so I am painting my army up that way. I figure I can use the unit but the rest of my army will function as normal marines.
