Given that this was my very first army, you'd think I'd have gotten around to posting some pictures of em before now. Oh well, get ready for a spam of all my `Nids that I think are worth posting.

First up are the humble troops, my Hormagaunts, Rippers and Gaunts. You can tell which ones I like better simply by which ones I got to painting. I miss the part of the 3ed Codex that let you give Rending Claws to Rippers... May have to get around to painting those other Gaunts now that they can screen stuff again.

P.S. I'm aware some of the pics come out blurry. Apparently that's my camera's way of nagging me to replace the batteries, even though the low battery light's only been flashing for a couple of weeks now.

Love the plastic Warriors. The old plastic ones had their charm, but these are just sweet. I try to forget about the metal ones that came in between.

Minor note, those Warriors with the Rending Claws used to be my Tyrant Guard. I had used the head of the 3ed Zoanthrope as their shield, made the spines on the end, and then a Lash Whip in the other hand. Loved em.

Hated the 3ed Ravener and Zoanthrope. Heck, I really don't care for the current Zoanthrope either, but I do like the new Raveners. Did I mention yet that I love the current Warriors?

Carnifexes! Or would that be Carnifi? Whatever... A 2ed Screamer Killer, a 3ed Short Bus, and a 4ed conversion that I never got around to painting because I didn't like the shade of green that I attempted to use when they discontinued the Camo Green spray.

The (albeit unfinished) leader of the pack! The Hive Tyrant! This was one of my projects I was working on right around the time I phased out of Warhammer for awhile. If/when I go back to him, I may make him winged, or not, we'll see how 5ed works out.

A final side by side of the `Fex and Tyrant so you can better see the size/proportion differences I was going for.

I never know what I am looking at with 'Nids. I suppose people feel the same way about my Orks . The paint looks good for what I can see and I really like the base color of the Carni, he looks nice and dynamic. I think you should take a crack at finishing him.

As far as the Hive Tyrant goes...can he run now? Should you even bother with the wings? I don't know, I have been trying so hard not to pay attention to 5E rumors so I can sit down and enjoy the book next weekend .

You name your armies ridiculous things, Devourer of Picnics....and Bling 'Crons? Are there pics of them? Will you share? The thought of Necrons with fat gold ropes and Adidas has me all a'titter! Haha I love your sense of humor!

"Orkses never lost a battle. If we win we win, if we die we die fighting so it don't count. If we runs for it we don't die neither, cos we can come back for annuver go, see!"

I dig how in a setting where giant, muscled fungus men ride Mad Max cars and use their own teeth as currency, the concept of little engineering dudes with beards was considered a step too far down the aisle of silliness.

I quite like the tyrant but if you do go back to work on him id consider building a super devourer on his left side. it should balance up nicely + I just really don't like those stumpy arms! Your conversion and green stuff looks up to it.

Oli: Can I be an orc?
Everyone: No.
Oli: But it fits through the doors, Look!

If I make the Tyrant flying he'll have a pair of bigger Devourers, if I don't, I'm not sure what I'll give him for weapons just yet.

As for the army names, they were mostly just something to put in my sig since the armies don't really have names like my marines, and I didn't want to just put Necrons or Tyranids. The Necrons were originally just called Shiny Gold Necrons, but someone at the FLGS called em Bling`Crons once and I liked it.

Here's a link to my thread where I showed them off, but it's a rather old one, so no replying or you'll anger the thread necro gods.

Okay, I'll just have to reply here, then- I think those are the best-looking Necrons I've ever seen. The poses are nicely done and definitely accomplish your goal of uniqueness. And I love the way the blue power cables contrast with the gold. Great work.

And that wire color scheme wasn't even made for the Necrons, it was made for my black armored marines. Goblin Green for ribbed cables, Enchanted Blue for smooth cables. It does work real well on the Necrons indeed.
