If you destroy their material corpse or their hold on this plane, they return into the warp.
I'm not sure if they have a death or just dissolves in the warp.
Maybe they die if killed in a place shielded from the warp. Their time without the warp to feed on could be limited.

well all a daemon is, is a small bit of energy from one of the Gods such as Khorne. When the material body dies yes it does go back to the warp as you said. The warp is on an entirely different plane from the physical world also as you said. but there is no way to keep it from going back to the warp. also everybody and everything that dies, humans and aliens alike, go to the warp when they die. There is also no way to destroy or even injure the warp. so in the end the Warp is unstoppable. it can be slowed down but never prevented entirely.

Demons can be destroyed.
For a demon to exist, essentially you need to weaken the wall between the physical and the warp. This is (generally) done with mass amounts of sacrifice, carnage, etc. Now, when a demon rips and claws it's way out of the warp into this world, they are cut off from the power that sustains them (unless of course you're in a warp storm. more on that later) and thus, they are 'mortal' for lack of a better term. Just like killing an eldar, killing a demon causes it's essence to be pulled rather forcefully back into the warp. That said, the demon is still dead. Just as the Eldar is dead.
Now, during a big warp storm, the warp bleeds into reality. It's a wound in the physical plane. This changes things considerably. Things like physics, time, space, etc mean less. There are planets that are alive for example - the actual planet being a living being. Now, in something like this, a demon is a very different force. They are able to manipulate the warp incredibly easily, and thus, are much much much harder to 'kill' off in any kind of even semi-permanent matter. That said, they can still be killed. It's just not an easy task to make them stay that way forever. Kill a demon today, he is reborn a year and a day later, and pops up in the physical yesterday to cause some trouble.
The only warp entity I can think of that is pretty much impossible to kill is Lucius, as killing him will turn most anyone INTO him. That said, from the traditional point of view, he can still be killed. And if something that was unable to feel the accomplishment of killing him were to kill him, then he would be completely gone. A tyranid for example.
I could get into more detail, but I'm already rambling as it is.
So yeah. There you go. Thats just my 2 cents though. Take it with a grain of salt.

Agreed. Necrons, Tyranids, and anything unable to really feel any sense of accomplishment from killing him, would be unaffected. If you kill him, and don't know you kill him (orbital bombardment without knowing he is on the planet) you could also achieve the same results, presumably.

But see your still just killing the physical body. The point of the OP was whether or not you could kill the beings in the warp. Which you cannot, in the end there is no way to keep them from returning to the physical world.

I think that if you kill a lesser demon its essence goes back to the warp and rejoins its god. Then they can make a new one if they want.
For greater demons and demon princes, when they die on the physical plane I think they get banished back the the warp for 100 years. I may be thinking D&D here.

I'm sure you can kill a deamon but you'd have to be in the warp.
look at the eldar codex, its full of gods killing each other and the like.
I think that eldar would be the only ones that could kill anything in the warp but I don't know the fluff on the c'tan being gods or what have you. even if the emperor was allowed to die by unplugging the golden throne he would easily be crushed by the gods of chaos once inside the warp.
since eldar are the only ones that could kill it and their almost dead I'd have to say that tyranids are just going to take over and once everything is destroyed the warp will be too.
its a mirror of the real world. say you get angry in traffic, its like a little prayer to to the blood god, you look at porn, slanesh, etc. as long as there's humans killing and following their emotions the gods will be there.

The Gods may live, but their demons are only splinters,so they could be recollected, therfore ending the existance of the demon.

i just remember in D&D if you kill a deamon on the prime material plane( aka a planet) it goes back too the plane of it exsistion(sp). IF you kill the deamon on its plane of exsistion( aka IN the Warp) it should died hense it physical form is destroyed)
my two cents on the subject as per my understanding of D&D rules goes

The daemons book says they're born and erased at the whims of the gods. So Slaanesh could erase daemonettes from existence entirely.
Things like Furies, though, are just raw chaos, with no sway from the gods. They don't get erased, I don't think, just dissipated.

Daemonettes were killed by the death blade in the novel Farseer. The blade was vampiric and it fed the user with the essence of anyone cut by it. So it eats daemons the way slaanesh eats eldar souls
