Is this some Indy GT done on the UK?

Basically, yes. But I run it at GW's HQ in Nottingham, with advertising support from White Dwarf and the assistance of the Warhammer World team (so I'm allowed to use GW imagery and the "Grand Tournament" title).

This is the second official year for the IGT, but the third year of running this sort of event (as we had a dry run in 2006).

I'm sorely tempted to get a ticket and join in, but I'm pretty rusty on =][=. I still use the original rulebook rather than the living rulebook, and I'm a little concerned there'll be a vast amount of difference. That said, is there a summary of updates anywhere, or simply a board I can find to ask?

It'd also be very useful if you could provide a link to the rundown of the last weekend (I know I read it somewhere...).

Yes, I suppose I should have made it absolutely clear in the opening post that the GT isn't just called "the Inquisitor Grand Tournament". It is actually the Grand Tournament for the game "Inquisitor".

If you go to the briefing pack (which is still last year's, but won't change much when I get the new version up in the next few days), you'll see that designing scenarios is part of the tournment.

Now _that_ is cool. Constructive and creative ability (on the spot) favored over (or at least alongside) the creation of super-combos. Nice.

The marking scheme is slightly altered this year but, yes, achieving your objectives in each game constitutes only 10% of your actual score.

For those of you considering coming to the Grand Tournament, here's a newsflash that might drive you to do what you must:

JERVIS JOHNSON will be coming in to judge the modelling competition, have lunch with the competitors (and talk about Inquisitor and its future with Games Workshop) and playtest INQ2 with me. If he can, he'll also stay to give out the prizes.
