I'm just getting started in Hordes and am slowly starting to buy models. I love the Trollbloods, the models are great, the background is cool and their playstyle works for me as well.
My only question is, where is the Doomshaper love?
I really want to put together a beast-heavy list with Doomshaper leading them but I don't see this at all online. Is there a reason why Doomshaper doesn't get much love?

He generally works best with a lot of infantry and a handful of beasts. He's not horrible, but he's incredibly squishy and needs infantry to screen him and keep him out of trouble. I'd look at fielding Grim Angus, who is one of the best warlocks in the game.

His feat doesn't seem to do much, either.

Yeah. You're really better off (after Madrak, who's just a beatstick on crack) moving on to Grissel and Angus. I have Doomshaper, and I never use him. I'd only really consider him in a duel list: Horluk, Bouncer, 2 DTMs. But even then you're better off with someone else.

Guinness: for those who are men of the cloth and football fans, but not necessarily in that order.
I think the lesson here is the best way to enjoy GW's games is to not use any of their rules.--Crimson Devil |

Well I kind of moved near Toronto, actually.

I bet there will be an epic doomy soon enough.

I use doomy in a beast heavy list, with variable success.
His feat turn is tricky to pull off- you have to buff up, let them hit you (or hit them, but with trolls this can be hard) and then lock them down. If you pop it before they're engaged, they can just sit back and wait til it expires, so you have to wait until they've committed or you've committed, which is dangerous. It's certainly not on par with the likes of Saeryns or Kromacs feat, but it's not awful.
As for the list, I'm probably not doing it right but I usually run a mauler, an earthborn (who to be honest isn't all that great) and axer and an impaler, and maybe a fell caller and some Warriors. I have the most trouble with Legion assassination runs.
