Apologies if this has been posted already.

There is a new video out from Leipzig for DOW II in which the lead designer talks about the Tyranids. It includes some video of Tyranid gameplay footage:

Ooooohh, good stuff. Nice find Yak.

I´m starting to get more positive towards DoW2. At first I was like "can we please stop it alreasy, you´ve done as much as you can" but after seeing these newer vids it´s starting to look quite good.

I wonder if they´ll stick to the character-like marines that they originally talked about, or cave and go for the "let´s just build another 50 marines" thing again...

YO DAKKA DAKKA!

Good to see some nice animation on that note -

I'd just like to rant about he intro video. The idea is a hundred times more original than the DoW intro, but it looks like it was animated using the same piece of toast they wrote the storyboard on.

The bit where the warp spider somersaults off the rock before he finishes off the marine, followed by a couple of running banshees, must have been seriously animated by an intern or something though. The dreadnought appears and it gets slightly better, if only because a poorly animated robot doesn't look as dumb as poorly animated elves. The voice acting is going to be the same poo. I guess it's too late to flush that toilet though.

That lictor was extremely docile as well. I hope they don't just stand around like that when they're meant to be fighting.

Actual quote - "Hand animation, when done extremely well, is better than real life, is more exciting..."

The jump pack animations/effects, the bioweapon fire in general and the lighting on the newly detailed space marines are the high points I can see. The layout of the maps is what I'm most excitied about though - waist-height barriers! Hedgehogs, and shooting through them, and it's ACTUAL COVER! THIS IS A 40K GAME!

Saw this at gamesday. New shiney graphics, new units, same physics engine I've grown to love.
Recipe for success. And dear GOD did it look good on that big screen.
