Fortress Europe (late war european list updates) has finally been given a seemingly definitive release date of 15th November. More information can be found at their product spotlight:
http://www.flamesofwar.com/hobby.aspx?art_id=944
They are also going to start putting small magnets in their tank boxes:

Very cool, and a smart idea on the magnets... I should use some on the few FOW models I have kicking around.

I've been magnitizing my turrets for years. It makes it much easier to transport them since the turrets stay on the tanks. It's also great since you can take them off or put cotton under them when a tank is brewed up. -K

So is Flames Of War purely Historical in it's outlook, in so far as no made up Tanks or units?

I can practically smell the froth on the rabid mouths of the historical gamers at the mere linking of made up units to a historical game As I understand it (and my FoW knowledge extends as far as owning a couple of the books, models and trawling the forums), FoW is generally regarded as a historical game that takes a few liberties in specifics about the units to make it an enjoyable game, but it certainly doesnt go as far as inventing new units. Oh and in case you have not seen much FoW stuff, here is a crazy 12550 point army from their forums: made up of these blisters and boxes: and a close up of some models:

There was a Yahoo group working to integrate the walkers and weird science bits from Gear Krieg into the setting... The scale is the same, so it's just creating rules.
I like magnets on the (Heavy Gear) tanks I've painted as well. helps them stay on (a few are a bit unevenly balanced due to asymmetrical rocket pods) and it works well.

Working on someting you'll either love or hate. Hopefully to be revealed by November.

The game has a great following around here of young and old alike. Best of all they aren't overly serious history buffs that attack you for using the wrong colour green or the wrong badge for a certain unit.

I'm waiting for the release of the M26 Pershing, until then I'll just make do with the Firefly and Typhoons.
