this would be my first time selling something virtual , in person too (craigslist)
my world of warcraft account.
any suggestions what i need to do?
-bring all the original cd, and the cd keys.
-make sure i never touch that account again / uninstall etc etc.
what else can i do to help garuntee something virtual goes through?
the buyer is worried that i might revoke the account through GM
i know i wont do that, but is there something adamant i can do to help ease
the doubt for the buyer?

My question is, what sort of douchebag would buy such a thing? Aren't gold-selling/farming and powerlevelling universally reviled? What's the point of playing a game if you're going to skip over building your character's history. If you're so bored with a game that you can't stand starting another character from scratch, you should move on to something different.

Never played WOW so can't help with what I'd be looking for but have you checked out ebay for what others are listing?

Take cash and POSTAL money orders ONLY. Every other form of payment is way too easy to forge.
NEVER take paypal for the sale of virtual goods. The buyer can instantly get their money back for good not delivered and you will have no grounds for a dispute.
I made over 3,000 USD selling my gear and money in FF11 years ago. If you take precautions with payment source you'll be fine.

Report the new guy to the game company for having stolen your password.
Technically he has stolen it since he never paid for it.
The game company knows who used to control the account.
Don't tell them you sold it to him unless the End User Licence Agreement allows you to sell accounts.
The thing is you may get the account back and find he has transferred away all the gold and items.

just change your password?
chances are all you stuff is gone though.
you might be able to contact blizzard and tell them he hacked your account but i am not sure how that will turn out.
the original owner of the game always has the upper hand because it is his info that blizzard has for account verification.

the scammer depositted money into my paypal account.
i saw the payment and gave him the password ( gave him my game account )
moments later he filed ( un authorized payment case ) basically paypal is letting him
take the paid money back.
so yes i lost my game account ( nothing real, but just alot of my time spent on it )

You can get it back. You just have to tell the GM on your server about what happened. He got your password and got into your account. Even if he sharded everything you have you can have GMs get it all back as long as it's within a month or so.

./cackle. FBI cases for selling passwords to computer games? This isn't Japan. Get in contact with Blizzard, the GM on the server, and forward the emails to their contact. He is just trying to scare you. This will backfire on him horribly if you let them know about it.

Aye, not only will they return your account, if he has his own he risks being labbeled a gold scammer and they will cancel his as well.
Really do as others have suggested, tell a GM that you account has been hacked and PW stolen, he won't have the in game codes from your box so will have a real hard job proving otherise. I also think he'd be an idiot if he raised Paypal evidence as it would prove he did indeed recieve the goods in question and was scamming you.
Although even if the worst happens and they ban your account because you tried to sell it, at least you will have the satisfaction he hasn't nabbed it all for free. Oh and aye, this is the worst that can happen to you in this case.

I'm pretty certain selling your WOW account is a violation of the WOW EULA, but people do it all the time.
Since he tried to scam you, I would simply have contacted Blizzard and told them someone Phished your account name/password and you would like them re-establish your account.
If you still have the orginal CD Key it will prove you are the rightfull owner.
If you've waited too long, your virtual stuff may be gone, but at least you can have the personal satisfaction of getting your acocunt back. They might even ban his IP address.
