So I've been milling around here for a while now and I keep hearing whispers of a thing called planetstrike. Naturally I don't expect any concrete information to emerge, but what's the word on the grapevine?

What I do know, is that it may be based around the sort of Ship to Earth Combat -- the invasion of a Planet, expeditions, rescues, etc.

Don't hold me, I expect somebody more senior will set me to rights. That's what was pieced together last night with some friends. I expect, much more involvement of Air Support. Valkyries, better and simpler flight combat, perhaps more skimmers, etc.

I'd be interested to see what it turns out to be, anyway.

Think along the lines of Cityfight, but geared entirely towards deepstrike assaults.

Now, much beyond that I don't know, but I first heard about this shortly after the launch of Apocalypse from a Staffer friend, who hasn't always proven 100% accurate. I flagged it up on Warseer, and IIRC, the information I had tallied with similar hearings from more reliable rumour mongers.

So, it definitely appears to be on it's way. ETA to the best of my knowledge is as yet unknown or subject to change, and whether we will see any tasty toys deployed by the company is only a guess at the moment.

The name "planetstrike" is a rumored supply for 40k, maybe codex or something like the Apoc books.
I also heard it is renamed to "drop zone" ,but as it is, this may see the ligth not before 2010 so we do know.........

I guess its a fusion of Aeronautica imperialis and WH40k 5th ed.

The apoc rules for flyers are just too few and BRB doesn't have any, so why not?

I haven't heard anything really solid about this yet, but it does seem to keep popping up. The next expanion following Apocolypse.

When it is out, and what it will be about exactly, not totally sure.

I have heard the following:
1) Will be released with a plastic thunderhawk
2) will be apoc sized battles but geared towards planetary assault
3) will be out in june 2009
