Just a quick one, I've been getting GW to replace missing parts from kits for years (a fair few of us have experienced this I'd expect) however I don't know where they stand on this one.

I know FW will, but basically I have a model, well its my wifes model which she opened a few days ago and its really badly molded. If they have a quality control I don't know how they missed it as basically the leg is bent out of shape and is about 2-3mm shorter than it should be. (Its the rear leg of the fantasy Khorne Jugger if folks are interested.)

What I wanted to know is have anyone here on Dakka dealt with GW with this sort of issue, and do you think they would they be willing to replace the part?
Just want to know if its worth me ringing them tomorrow and ask for a replacement part.

So then, I guess your Avatar isn't a picture of yourself. I hate that. Is it your wife?

I've had experience with this from both GW and FW.

GW has come through with a replacement EVERY SINGLE TIME! To me, their customer service has always been one of their best assets.

Give them a ring-a-ling and let them know exactly what the problem is. Be prepared to tell them where you purchased the item as well as box codes. You can also e-mail them with attached pics of the damage.

The last time I had an issue was with 2 boxes of storm guardians. All of the heads were smushed, or had not been molded properly. I called them and shot off an e-mail with pics. I got new heads and some extra bits within the week with no need to send anything back.

Good luck

Aye its from the game intro. Although I have to ask the question good captain, you don't really believe everyones avatar on the Net is themselves do ye?

Because if you do, two_heads_talking is an odd looking fella going by his.

Yeah they are replacing it with no worries, oddly I might have misheard the guy it was a terrible line, but I'm sure he said they where sending me a replacement box.

So I await with interest, FW has fully replaced models before, but usually with GW they just sends the part. A unexpected bonus from the reduction on bits on the site perhaps?

Eitherway, good news.

Erm, I've only ever had the full model replaced. Never had GW just supply the replacement part.

I had two CSM rhinos with miscast tracks, the long piece on the bottom was melted half way through on both of them O.o and they sent me two full new Rhinos.

Interesting, in the past I'd had only parts missing and they just sent me the actual part. Although I haven't had a problem before this for about three years now so maybe this is a change, or I was just speaking to the wrong troll.

I can see why folks say if nothing else you can't fault the customer service at GW.

with metal they tend to just send whatever bit needs to be replaced, but with plastic they have to send at least the whole sprue (and since most models are originally from a single larger sprue that's snapped in half at the joints to make two smaller sprues they often just replace the whole model.)
