It looks like we are coming to the end of the first part of the story.
(Start here if you have never read it. http://www.giantitp.com/comics/erf0001.html)
Will the creators have the energy to move on to the second episode?

It seems like, until recently, he didn't even have the energy to keep up with THIS story.
Granted, I don't visit the GITP forums, so it might've been addressed, but there were weeks at a time when that thing went without an update... only to end up giving up "Parson's Blog!"
It's OotS possibly coming to an end that bothers me. I love that comic. I could easily see the story arc drawing it to a close.

OotS is by a different chap to Erfworld. It has been a very reliable and long-running comic and seems set to continue.
I don't blame internet comic artists for wobbly production. Many of them are basically doing it as a hobby. Only a few manage to make so much from their website that they can give up the day job. Penny Arcade, for example.
OotS makes money from selling books and I believe the author also writes scenarios and so on for whoever publishes D&D these days.

I'm aware it's a different guy (Rich Burlew) and, as Killkrazy said, he makes his living off of book sales.
Definitely NOT the free online comic.
I think he does some D&D stuff, as well... I know he has in the past. he was one of the finalists for WotC to publish his world (when Eberron won).
The thing is, he's stated that he has a definite end in mind for the OotS characters. He said he knew HOW it would end... just not when.
So, look at it:
V is freaking out. She definitely looks like she's about to fall into lichdom.
Roy's dead... has been for a while... his body is a GOLEM now... Can't get much worse off than that.
Belkar's... changed.
Durkon's just kind of "out there."
Elan, too.
Ms. Starshine's in some crap as a new/returning guild member. They won't be too happy about her wanting to turn around and leave. Besides... I think she's going to overthrow that half orc and become the guildmaster.
I feel like such a geek for this post.
I blame you guys.
LOL

I'm just waiting for Erfworld to publish their mass combat rules
It's a fun comic but I defineitly wait a few months before checking it again so there's enougbh content to catch up. And we should never blame a guy for being late in giving us free internet entertainment.

Word of God is that we don't know that. And never will.
Personally, I think V is tomboyish, but is female.
But this isn't the place for that particular discussion...

I thought Belkar had his doom thing
V is an Elf of indeterminate sex that wears a dress and uses magic so could be either at any given time.

Of all the races of the universe the Squats have the longest memories and the shortest tempers. They are uncouth, unpredictably violent, and frequently drunk. Overall, I'm glad they're on our side!
