Do flip flops fall under the category of sandals? I HAET (intentional mispelling) flip flops, they're the most impractical footwear ever devised. You can't run in them, you can barely walk in them, their traction is crap (try balancing on something with them, I DARE you; they might stay on but you won't), and they make an @$$-load of noise. Ka-flap, Ka-flap, ka-flap....AAAARRRRRGGGHHH!!!!!! I prefer women who have some sense and wear practical footwear (no offense to the wives/girlfriends of dakka-goers).

Maybe it's because I've come to associate flip flops with ignorant, gum-chewing, ever-texting, image-obsessed broads...Quite the quandary.

Having been kicked in the head by an angry female, I vote most enthusiastically for flip-flops.

I think Ugs look terrible, as do most casual shoes like Crocs or flip-flops. They may look OK on teenage girls at the beach but I am old enough to feel like a perve if I concern myself with such young ladies.

I don't prefer boots or sandals. Any kind of boots or sandals can look good, it depends on how it fits with the overall outfit. Porn sandals are pretty stupid.

Japanese sandals and geta are kind of silly by themselves, but they look great with the full kimono getup. (NB: UK viewers, the girl on the left of the stormtrooper doesn't know what that finger sign means in Britain.)

These girls are wearing the light kind of sandals. To see geta in action you have to visit the Gion district of Kyoto and watch the geisha walk out to their evening appointments. They have to walk slowly and the geta make a clop clop noise.

Most Japanese women can't walk properly in high heels, from what I've seen.

Hey killkrazy, what does the finger sign mean?

Made in jp

Somewhere in south-central England.

It's the equivalent of when an American puts up his single middle finger. More often done with the right hand, but left is equally valid. For emphasis it can be done with both hands and repeated alternate wagging motions.

It's very specific to the UK, due to historical reasons.

Unfortunately, it is similar to Churchill's WW2 'V for Victory' sign and in many countries it is the sign for 2.
