Im not a Space Marines fan , despite knowing about them in warhammer for years now , reading their fluff
from the codex / rule book / small bits from other codex never really impressed me at all.
Till i saw this video:
Im assuming the narration is from the Emperor , like a father praising his children o_0
Anyways enjoy the video if you havnt seen it before.
The speech is actually from Roboute Gulliman, I believe that it's supposed to be his intro to the Codex, but I may be mistaken. but it could also be the Emporer. Great vid by the way.

It's the music. A proper selection of music can evoke any emotion desired from the 'subjects'. Kinda cool how that works. It's an awesome video too.

The idea is that it takes extra effort and time to write properly, and they’d rather save the time. If you can still be understood, what’s the harm? While most of the time a sloppy post CAN be understood, the use of proper grammar, punctuation, and spelling is generally seen as respectable and desirable on most forums. It demonstrates an effort made to be understood, and to make your post an easy and pleasant read. By making this effort, you can often elicit more positive responses from the community, and instantly mark yourself as someone worth talking to.

No offence but is anyone else vaguely embarrassed by these GW fan vids which normally consist of just close-ups of GW artwork or miniatures with either music from a movie (normally either Gladiator, LotR or Requiem for a sodding dream) or a Manowar song playing.
I don't know what it is they just seem a bit cheap and I can't see them ever winning the hobby any new fans. If anything I think they just raise cheap laughs.
Oh an don't get me started on the stop motion animation vids done with miniatures!

No idea, but everyone starts from somewhere. We arnt all natural born genius that can produce HolyWood movie with
tons of budgets on special effects and stuff.
If the fans feels intimidated or embarrassed because their current accomplishments arnt up to par with the "bigshots" and
end up not doing anything at all, that itself is depressing and sad.
But then why do them at all? Im all for hobby Videos showing stuff being painted or games in progress. But talking about or 'paying tribute' to Space Marines as iff they were real is just a bit well sad IMHO.
Im a big beliver is protecting the dignity of the hobby and this sort of thing I think is at odds with this.

It's just people being creative, exactly like the modelling forum wanting to show of their work afterwards. And Lunahound is exactly right, if you could see the quality of some media portfolios i have seen you'd be surprised, and those are ones owned by people who now work for various british television corporations.
In this case, yes the music and the artwork enahnce it but he's done well to juxtopose it with the dow footage I think, so credit to him. edit: or her
