Dawn of war Anihilation.
1850pts.
Imperial Guard vs. Space Marines of the Crimson Fist flavour.

The table had some basic terrain scattered around it, nothing big but the ruined Land Raider peice.

Deployment-
Guard deploys first, and sets up 2 squads on the halfway point, to push back the marines, and secure the deployment zone.

The Fists set up 2 tac squads as well, spread into lines to avoid ordanance blasts.

Cadian Turn 1- The army pours on, in one large battle-line, and the infantry in front immedietly falls back. The leman Russes fire, but inflict only a few kills.

Fist Turn 1- Using what little cover they have, the fists enter the battle. The thunderfire moves up on the left, and the plasma dread on the left.

Cadian Turn 2- All barrles are firing, and most are hitting something. A concentration of fire on one Tac squad drops it down to 2 men, and a few well aimed shots take out the thunderfire cannon AND the techmarine. The multi-melta dread is immobilised.

Fist Turn 2- The wounded squad passes LD, and moves towards cover. The assault marines and their captain turn off their jump packs, and run into the central terrain peice. On the left, the plasma dread hits the hellhound, but fails to penetrate the armor.

Cadian Turn 3- Seeing the immediate threat, fire is directed at the assault marines and a few fall to the torrent of fire. The Marine left flank is collapsed, and the units that are placed there begin to move over to the right.

Fist Turn 3- The reserves arrive, in the form of a 10 strong Termie squad, made from Space Hulk termies. They use their firepower to take down most of a cadian squad. The assault marines turn their packs back on, and take a few casualties, but reach the lines, and destroy a cadian squad.

Cadian Turn 4- Things are looking messy for the gunline, but this imperial commander isn't afraid of using ordanance right next to freindly models. A wall of fire power hits the assault marines, but 2 manage to survive, one of which is the captain. The command squads line up to charge him down in an assualt, but only 2 of the 3 make it through the cover. Marines strike first, taking down a few guardsmen, but the number of attacks the command teams threw back, made the marines fail a few saves, taking them down.

Fist turn 4- Most of the marines are down from enemy fire, but the right flank is going strong. The termies tear through the autocannons, enemy fire bouncing off their 2+ saves. the other tac marines back up the termies with supporting fire.

Cadian Turn 5- The Assassin arrives, and uses her ap 2 flamer to great effect vs. the terminators, killing 3. The rest of the army begins to fire on that same squad, forcing them to take so many saves that they're bound to fail a few. Unfortunetly, one terminator refused to fail his 2+ save.

Fist Turn 5- The last terminator advances forward, destroying another autocannon team with his heavy flamer. The rest of the army, takes cover to avoid becoming an easy Killpoint at game's end.

Cadian Turn 6+7- The game continues for 2 more turns, The entire remaining guard army firing at the single terminator! HE WONT DIE!

Fist Turn 6+7- The lone termie rampages through the lines, destroying a leman russ, and sending the rest of the army running away from him.

Summary-
Sorry for such a short report, but the battle was a little while ago, and alot happened since it took place. After the dust settled, the guard had gained 5 Kill points, but the Fists had earned 7. 4 of those were gained by the Termie squad alone, 2 of that by a single termie. The game was alot of fun, esspecially at the end, when the fists pulled the victory out of my hands, with the termie squad. I hope to have another battle sometime, once I get the rest of my army painted.

Nice report, thought I would of it your right flank, it looked very weak with only a leman russ and a chimera.

Great report, too bad that IG couldn't pull off a KP win :(

The only thing I would of done differently as IG would been to have placed the Demolisher in the center of my lines, so that it could respond better to deepstrikers.

Nice call there BoxANT. I think that putting the demolisher in more central to the army would have been a good idea. I was so close to the KP win! If only it ended on turn 5...

@Avrik_Shasla- I'm not sure I understand you completly. My right flank had Missle launchers, Ratlings, a chimera and a demolisher. If anything, i'd say I put too much on the right.

@enmitee- Thanks! The space hulk termies are silly, even if they killed my poor guardsmen.

Thanks Guys. The old school marines add alot to the game. I'm currently painting up some 1st ed. Guard models to combat the marines.

Thats a damn shame there Deathmachine. I'm slowly trying to peice together parts enough to have a 500 point army of only RT and old school models, so 3000 seems amazing.

Versteckt in den Schatten deines Geistes.

Wow. Original Space Hulk Termies. Don't see them all that often... thought there's a good reason for that.

Anyway, interesting armies, but have you considered getting some terrain for your boards? The busted up Land Raider is nice, but that table was virtually empty, with a few scattered pieces of small, low-level terrain.
