I just decided to give the miniature gaming a go. I am a huge fan of the W40K universe and decided to take it back to the roots. I am currently starting a Space Marine army. Basically going with a pre-excommunicatis Soul Drinker Army. I am passed the initial investment, just wondering if my choice of uits can do me some good. I got a heck of a deal on some figures and was looking for some thoughts on whether my army will stand up at 1000 points.

My current troops consist of the following: 1 Dreadnought, 1 Drop-Pod, 1 Scout-Sniper-Rocket Squad, 2 Full Tactical Marine Squads(20), 1 devastator Squad, 1 Terminator Squad, 1 Terminator Chaplain, 1 Space Marine Captain, 1 Assault Squad, and 1 Landspeeder Storm-Variant.

Any and all suggestions welcome.

Thanks,

What are you going to drop in the pod? Seems like a good start, though you might want to invest in some mobility.

I am thinking of using the drop for either a the Dread or perhaps a outfitted tactical squad. I like dreads, but they tend to just be bullet sponges without mobility or deep strike ability.

I actually have some Souldrinkers to ally with my witch hunters, but whenever I play spacemarines all I can think about is how more than half the people who play 40k play them, unimaginative gakkers . BUT ANYWAY coming from someone who hates SMs put termies in the drop pod, having something to get them up close and personal for some chainfist action helps. The dread on the other hand is more of a "I slowly move forward while owning everything with a missile launcher, then get into close combat" kind of unit.
