You can keep all of those functionally slowed movies that star special effects and CG destruction.

I'll take Public Enemies.

Michael Mann - Johnny Depp - Christian Bale

John Dillinger - Tommy Guns - Bank Robberies

And if you don't know who Michael Mann is, I feel completely sorry for you.

I know who Michael Mann is. I also know who Tommy Guns is. What disturbs me is that he's in a Michael Mann movie - although he's certainly not the first porn star to try and break into a mainstream film.

Johny Depp as John Dillinger? John Dillinger was the antithesis of pretty boy Depp. Thats a stretch in a big way. (I like Depp as an actor)

Which is why this is a movie, not a documentary. So I'll be more excited for a movie by the guy with the credits included above than a Transformers sequel by the director of TF and Armageddon

Heat was awesome until the end. I have trouble believing that a guy that 'together' and thorough, would turn into an idiot that fast. He was the epitomy of the calculating criminal. All he had to do was get on a plane. Certainly his patience was developed enough he could have laid low for about 5 years; long enough the 'Heat' would have been off, and the snitch would start feeling safe again. THEN he could come back, extract his revenge and be long gone again before the police knew wtf was going on. Instead, he decided that everything he had learned over the years was incorrect, and the vengeance was priority one. COMPLETELY out of character. The ending puts Heat on my list of worst movies of all time.

Not the star trek I know. But as a random space sci-fi action, fine whatever.

Also that watchman cartoon is super awesome I'd watch it

Heat, that was that movie with Arnold Schwarzenegger as a Russian Cop right? That was awesome, greatest ending ever.

No? Robert De Niro and Al Pacino ring any bells?

For me that is part of the appeal I suppose. I look forward to seeing a fresh take on the setting. I can watch the original series anytime so it won't keep me from liking "City on The Edge of Forever" even if it turns out to be terrible. Which it might.

Guys it was humor. (doh!)
Red Heat was hardly awesome, just another meat head 80's actioner. It lacks all Deniro and... other Italion American guy.

He didn't play a robot, he played a MAN. That was the whole point. That was the point of the long set-up explaining how close he was to getting away. Each of us acts "out of character" numerous times in our life.

The end is part of what makes it awesome.
