Surprised no one is commented (they're probably too busy playing it!) on this already.

I've gotten through six acts; and for the record never played Killzone 1.

That being said; the game is incredibly pretty in 1080i (upped by the PS3's HDMI to 1080p... so slightly better then 720p through the cables).

The story is kinda meh... just the average sci-fi Hitler getting his butt kicked. Your buddies consist of what look like the casting call rejects for Gears of War, including Dom in a hat with the creative name of Garza.

The gameplay is smooth enough. I usually play most games on whatever level three is (after easy, and normal) to get a bit of a challenge out of the AI and the bots are respectably hard, though not in the smart way.

It reminds me a bit of Halo 2 on Legendary. The badguys are just stupid bullet magnets that soak up shots all day long.

Gets a 3.5 for story, 5.0 for looks.

As my PSN is currently not working I haven't given the multiplayer a shot yet.

What do those PS3 owners out there think? Is this going to be the killer ap that gets everyone to buy it?

Gathering the Informations.

It's the best actual shooter that PS3 has.

And speaking from having played Killzone:
There's more to the story than "sci-fi Hitler". Think of Visari as a renegade Imperial Governor, and try to remember that Killzone came out before Gears of War, and you won't think as less of it.
The bad guys aren't really clever, and never have been. They're just very, very numerous and fanatical.

I have only played the demo. I thought it looked dreary, the level was too short, and the events and enemy movement were still fairly obviously scripted. However it was only the demo which is an early level in the game.

I think they put a lot of effort into the online mode which of course isn't in the demo.

My favourite shooting game on PS3 is still Team Fortress 2. I've been playing it for a good year. I am still discovering new things, such as new sentry gun placements, exploring the capabilities of different characters, and the variety in the different maps.

I'm writing a load of fiction. My latest story starts here... This is the index of all the stories...

We're not very big on official rules. Rules lead to people looking for loopholes. What's here is about it.
