-edit- strangely, this got posted before I finished my initial post.

I finally cracked open my McCragge to build some of the models. And they are good models - though the marines are "slightly" less detailed than the Black Reach ones. The tyranids on the other hand - holy cow are they EVER an improvement over the actual ones in terms of ease of building. Granted, you get no weapon options, but when building a swarm, having 50% Mccragge guants isn't going to matter.

While I like the amazing customization of the normal figures, the time saving aspect of the snap-togethers is appealing to me now that I have less time to model. If GW re-released the mccragge sprues, as "snap-together squad with objective markers", would anyone buy them? Would anyone buy similarly packaged squads of snap-together squads with army specific objective markers? (Maybe price them at ~$25 USD as they don't come with any options?)

No. These are overpriced for what they are - it would be different if they were much LESS expensive figure for figure as the regular squad box. I mean, actual re-use of the Mccragge moulds.

-edit- In Canada, they are $12cdn a box. $4 for a snap-tite marine is too much. $2 is about right.

Ah, that does make a difference. I'd be paying $2.67 a Marine if I bought one(which I won't, as I'm practically swimming in marines). Although, I'm almost tempted by the Guard set(US$1.60 a model)...

If the sales of extra AOBR Ork frames are any indication, I think there would be a high demand. I put together 70+ of them and they look right at home with the horde of other Orks I have.

I don't mind paying $14 for 5 snap-fit Guardsmen. It's undeniably useful in bulking out my battleforce. Of course, I try to stick with multi-part kits when possible.

People are like dice, a certain Frenchman said that. You throw yourself in the direction of your own choosing. People are free because they can do that. Everyone's circumstances are different, but no matter how small the choice, at the very least, you can throw yourself. It's not chance or fate. It's the choice you made.

I am currently buying Skull Pass dwarfs from ebay for my latest project. They aren't even snap together, just one piece. If GW sold the BfSP dwarf sprue for a little more than what I am paying now on ebay, I'd stop bidding and buy a bunch from them. Of course, I am sure the price would be much more than the ebay prices, so I do not know if it would be worth it for either of us.

The snap together guardsmen are really simple to make, but they of course lack flexibility for conversion. The current cadian box is $35 for 20, which is a much better deal than $14 for 5, $1.75 per model vs $2.8 per model for the snap togethers. However with the new guard boxes being $22 for 10 or $2.20 each they will be a lot closer, and maybe worth getting to quickly add models.

Cheese shows up as being in NZ. So those snap-fit guardsmen are only 9bux.

Um, that would be an AUSTRALIAN flag under Cheese's name. Check mine for the New Zealand version

On topic: Yes, I think there would definitely be a market for the MaCragge/Black Reach sprues. I don't even think it would detract from regular sales, as the poses are so fixed and not a lot can be done with them.
