How does a mear mortal come to know of the Chaos gods you ask ?
Sometimes Fate, Sometimes Luck and Sometimes he is lead there......

- 26th of March 958 M40

What a strange day today was…..

Went to the Imperial library today to get some quiet time away from those nutter Priests that have been roaming around the campus at the Imperial College telling everyone why they should volunteer for a ten year tour of duty in the Imperial Guard, don’t they get enough conscripts from the Hive city's

I wanted to get some real peace and quiet so I asked the Master Scribe if I could look at the Antique Tomes he once mentioned keeping in the basement, he smiled nodded and took me down three flights of stairs, I could not see the whole room as it was so dark be it felt huge cold and smelt musky. He gave me a lantern told me to spend as much time here as I wanted and as he walked away I thought he said "Don't slan the door on your way out" I thought I heard him laugh as he walked up the stairs.

Spent about half an hour walking around the room, looking at the books in the shelves, I don’t think many people have been down here over the years as the dust was thick on the shelves.

The light from my lantern was weak, I could not see the ceiling and I think I scared myself into hearing whispers in the darkness, I called out asking who was there, I got no response, the whispering continued and I swore it was getting closer.

I guess I am not as brave as I thought because I started to back away down one of the rows of books still calling out for whoever was in the darkness, fear can play tricks on your mind because I swore I saw shadows moving… almost dancing at the edge of my light and then I tripped falling backwards I landed hard with my head slamming into the into the stone floor, My lantern rolled to the side leaving me in the half darkness. I sat there in the shadows holding my aching head and uttered more than one curse in the name of the emperor under my breath.

It was then that I saw what I had tripped over, A large tome sat on the floor, I reached for my lantern to see the book clearly,.

It looked so very very old and for a moment I was afraid of touching it for fear I might damage it. Upon its thick leather was a finely crafted picture of naked maidens who appeared to be dancing around what looked like an over sized beastman. I carefully picked up the book and carried to the table so that I could read in relative comfort.

Now although I remember opening the book to read I must have fallen asleep or perhaps the bump to my head was worse than I thought because the next thing I remember was being gently woken by the old scribe who was telling me that it was late and that I could come back tomorrow to keep reading…

I felt tired and drained so I thanked him as he led upstairs, at the door he told me to watch myself on the way home as it was late and unscrupulous types were out I told him I would be back and with a strange laugh he said he already knew I would for a harmless of man he sure can creep you out .

I think I might have to get my hearing checked by the apothecary at campus tomorrow, I thought I heard the whispering again, it was almost as if it was following as I walked home which is just sillyness.

Standing right behind you...

Seems a bit messily done, I can tell that this is going to be a long story as pretty much nothing happened in this first log. Plenty of spelling mistakes and errors in grammar. Unless the story can pick up but the third log I can't see myself reading this.

I initially wanted to do something similar to the Chaos Space Marine diary with a bit of humour but that sort of changed as i wrote and when I reread it later in the day it felt unfinished, I guess it was because I got caught up with stuff while I was doing it. However spell checker only picked up 1 spelling error and I am not sure about the grammar because it did not pick up on much there either.....

I remember the chaos space marine diaries. They were hilarious.

One means the Mechanicum truly loses their gak, and the other means the Eldar realize that Vaul is really a toaster and experience religion fail.
