No, there're indpendently created. The prosedure is not unlike that for space marines, but is noted to be superior. It's rumored their gene-seed is derived from the emperor himself, rather then a primarch.

I thought Grey Knights were meant to have Geneseed from the Emperor? I always considered Custodies to be the Space Marine Mk 3, but never got implemented because the Emperor got Banjaxed, so the only people who know how to create them are isolated to Terra forever, lest they die and lose the knowledge, and knowing how the Imperium works, they keep it a jealously guarded secret

If I remember correctly, the Grey Knights seed actualy stems from several different legions. The first head of the Grey Knights was actualy an ex-Death Guard (according to HH's Flight of the Esenstien)

No, he is right. The original GKs were the forces of the traitor legions that decided to stay loyal rather than side with horus. This was mostly death guard, but there were at least one thousand son and world eater among them.

No Custodes are not Psykers, that's the Grey Knights.
Nor do they do the Sacrificing, that's the Astronomicon.
Nor does the Emperor drink blood, he drinks SOULS!

As the Guardians of the Emperor they never leave the Imperial palace IIRC. Also, their Grand Master is a permanent high lord of Terra. They have a few psykers but aren't all psykers (like the GKs). They are the only ones permited to approach the Golden Throne (unless they give permission) and are supposedly incorruptable... Cant remember much else other than the red n gold... Oh, they also man the 2 warhounds that flank the Emperor...

Man those models look amazing! If the adeptus astartes have such awesome weapons of are available to them, how come they leave them at home? They should mass produce them

See? Not so simple. They are not Mass Produced because they CANNOT be. They are Hand Crafted to exacting Standards, something which mass production cannot meet (there is a Reason why Lasguns are S3 Ap-), add to that YEARS of purification and blessings for each weapon...

Not to mention there's probibly only 5-10 adepts on Mars that actualy know how to make it.

Because the Adeptus Custodes are only for the Emperor, answer to no one except the Emperor (I don't even think the Inquisition can touch them). They exist as the last line of defence against anything and everything that the enemies of the Imperium could ever hope to throw at Terra. They used to go out with the Legions during the Great Crusade, usually one would act as the custodian of a ship's armoury, but since the Emperor was entombed on the Golden Throne, they have stayed on Terra.

The rest of the Marines are enough.

They are less of warriors then the Astartes, not only are they good in a fight, they are very skilled assassins(among the best in the imperium), and are very skilled politicians, you have to be living on terra

Actually in Tales of Heresy, Dan Abnett writes a piece called Blood Games that revolves around the custodes, one named Amon. In this, the custodes themselves acknowledge that they are created in a process pre-dating the Astartes and that many believe the Astartes procedure to be simplier and superior for streamline front line troops. Also, Amon admits "Generally, custodes were larger and more powerful than Astartes, but the differences were only noticeably significant in a few specific cases. No one would be foolish enough to predict the outcome of a contest between an Astartes and a custodes."

Sorry for more questions guys.., but are they grey knight marines in any way better than space marines or do they just get better equipment. I have read they are unflinching when it comes to frightful chaotic things but that doesnt make someone better as far as martial and physical prowess are concerned.

They are better mentally. Physically, the process is the same. The only difference is the Grey Knights are much more selective of who they choose, and then the hexagram ritual that blesses and branded(physically) a Grey Knight as the bane of Daemonkin.

Imagine taking 3 random Chapters and Killing off all but perhaps 1 Person. That's how harsh the Grey Knights are in their Selection.

related only in that they exist outside the normal Structure of power and are Answerable to certain Inquisition orders. The Sisters of Battle are the Warriors of the Eccliacity, the Imperial Cult. They are the Defenders of the Faith. They are actually a more Non-Combat Orginisation than the others, with many orders doing missions and humanitarian work, but they have a very strong Millitant Wing, that can only cosisit of women do to a loophole in a millenia old Decree (Further Reading as to why)
