I thought that even those not interested in playing WAR might enjoy the trailer.

Looks quite pretty. I wish it was something other than a MMORPG because I've no interest in playing one of those.

I refuse to play until the inclusion of Lizardmen as a playable faction. I will not budge on that stance.

I found this trailer... uninspiring.

The idea is that it takes extra effort and time to write properly, and they’d rather save the time. If you can still be understood, what’s the harm? While most of the time a sloppy post CAN be understood, the use of proper grammar, punctuation, and spelling is generally seen as respectable and desirable on most forums. It demonstrates an effort made to be understood, and to make your post an easy and pleasant read. By making this effort, you can often elicit more positive responses from the community, and instantly mark yourself as someone worth talking to.

I like WAR,but like with WOW I refuse to pay 15 dollars a month to have be able to play a game.

I think it's going to be a downloadable expansion.Maybe just adding a new place on the map.Or perhaps we are going to have to give out more money to be able to play the undead.

Looks like it's just a new Tomb King themed dungeon. My interest has waned to its previous level of "barely aware of its existence"

It's actually an entirely new zone with new instances and public quests and rewards etc.
and it's a free expansion, the monthly fee remains the same.

So you spend no money on Fantasy or 40k each month? I never understood why people would buy new units/paint/books but complain about having to pay for a different game each month. In video games people will complain about $10-15 but will spend $60 a month (if not more) to get a new game. Bandwidth that massive isn't free, server maintenance isn't free, good GM's/customer service isn't free, and constant repairs and content development isn't free.

If MMO's aren't your thing, that is fine, but don't say it is because you have to pay a small monthly fee as you are heading out the door to buy another box of Terminators. Any hobby will have a cost associated with it.

If that's their reasoning...then...that's their reasoning. Maybe they don't like paying a monthly fee just to do the same thing over and over again. Maybe they want to save that small fee for something new that they can use in another hobby. When people are in multiple hobbies, something has to give. And for many people out there, its a monthly fee associated with a video game. let them make the decision for themselves and get over it.

The vid was fun to kill time with while at work, by the way.

But it isn't really reasoning at all because no reason is used in it's formulation. If someone came here and said they wanted to play Warhammer but they never wanted to spend money on it we'd all look at them sideways. In essence it is saying I want to do something but I don't want to do it". You can't do it and not do it at the same time. It isn't a reasonable position. If they said it just didn't appeal to them, that would be reasonable.

Rated G wrote:Maybe they don't like paying a monthly fee just to do the same thing over and over again.

You mean like Warhammer/40k?

Rated G wrote:Maybe they want to save that small fee for something new that they can use in another hobby.

Not being able to afford something is a different argument than choosing not to afford something.

1. Why would you look at them sideways? The logical end is that they would not play Warhammer. Same with a video game with a monthly fee. I would love to go to Europe but threr are other things that are a financial priority. Whether that be by personal choice or not is inconsequential.

2. In all my years of playing Warhammer, it was never such a grind as my months in WoW. Every game of Warhammer for me has been different. Maybe I'm just lucky.

3. Your last point makes no sense. My statement has nothing to do with being able to afford something. It is priorities. Many people can afford the monthly fee, they would just rather make wise financial decisions and not add on hobby fee after hobby.

I agree with Ahtman here. I don't understand why people would dismiss a style of game solely by the monthly fee. If you don't like the game, fine. But the fee is such a trivial non-issue, especially when you consider the cost of other games. Like he pointed out, it's nothing compared to the cost associated with Warhammer armies. Even compared to other video games you're looking at $50-60 per new game. How is $15/mo really the barrier here?

Edit: Don't get me wrong, there were plenty of valid reasons to dislike Warhammer Online...

I think the point is if you buy say a squad of marines one month and not the next month they don't disappear and you can still use them when you don't pay your rent on your char it disappears.

The only game i've seen that deletes your characters for not paying anymore is Final Fantasy XI..

War(Hammer/Craft), City of Heroes/Villians, Guild Wars (Free to play btw), Age of Conan, Lord of the Rings all let you freeze your account & characters when you can't/don't want to pay anymore.

It´s a pity that Khemri is a new dungeon only, but the video looks really good.
