My opinion is DO NOT buy from wargamesempire.com! My reason being:
After having a few good sales with them (so thought they were OK) it has quickly escalated to a s**t fest.
I currently have 910 quid ($2110NZD) of orders that have not been sent, and emails and phone calls to them are being ignored!
They gave me invalid tracking numbers when I asked for the tracking no.
Some of the stuff is 4 months outstanding!
The few things I have now received have taken 2 mths.
This not a fault of post as the dates on the post dates are only 5 days before I got them.
In my opinion, they do not have stock or money and rely on new sales to buy the previous order!
This is not good business!'How can they get a new web site if they can't even compete peoples orders!

For the small price difference I now recommend dealing with maelstrom games as items are dispatched within a day of order and they have real-time stock numbers so you know if you have to wait for something.

If anyone else has experienced problems let the community know!
I have logged the transactions with Paypal for them to get to the bottom of this and either get my money or my models!

Smart move for doing the transaction through Paypal, thanks for giving us customer feedback - hopefully it'll sway buyers away from them or give 'em a swift kick in the ass to shape up.

I haven't seen your post before going to my own.

I have a lot of problems with Wargames Empire too.
They don't answer, even sending any tracking number at all.

Most of all, I have bought frome France, and it will be a mess in international legal prosecution.

Because I'll go for it, as I took the first step for it already.

So, I'm not alone in this mess... conforting at the very least...

Why legal?

If you used a credit card (and I assume that you did) then just call your credit provider whom will do all of the work for you. you will be covered for your purchases for 90 days (don’t wait though act now), since it is not your money it is the card companies until you have received the goods. They will have their own attack dogs to recover the money and you shouldn't have to lift a finger.

If you didn't use a Credit Card for an online purchase (you now know why this is a bad idea!) then I would advance the legal aspect ASAP. Since they are in the UK they are bound by the Distance Sale Act which should give you the proper recourse against this company.

Either way, good luck with this I hope that this is resolved satisfactorily for you.

Glad im not the only one who has had delivery problems
Tac squad arrived today (date sent was the 17th) and that was after just over 3 weeks.
So it does seem they take orders and dont check stock.
A few days late is no big deal, but nearly a month late before posting does take the piss.

Some of the best customer service I have ever recieved after chatting to one of the guys there several time. Always got my order in good time and if they had to order in the stock from GW they were forthcoming with the info for you.

Maelstrom seems to be the best to go with if you live over seas since the free shipping is insanely good. But gaming figures have a better discount so great for UK.

Plus they have good feedback, I sent some emails questioning about shipping before I placed my first order and got the responses a half hour - hour after sending them.

I've been emailing Wargamesempire about the three Eldar Battleforces they owe me (£102) and not been receiving any replies. Ordered over a month ago.

What ever you do, don't rely on Paypal getting your money back, those guys are useless...in fact they're less than useless! If the item wasn't purchased via ebay, you have almost no cover!! trust me, I've been through it with another online seller, paypal made me go through all the motions, letting me think that I was in with a chance of recovering my money, but when it came down to the line, and the seller was still not communicating, they left me out in the cold!!!! They only guarantee a recovery of your goods or moeny if the item was purchased via ebay!

The advice Notprop gave is spot on, don't waste 40 somthing days waiting for paypal, just get onto your card company and let them do the job, it'll be more efficient!

In addition, send the seller an email saying you will go to Trading Standards, what they're doing is in breach of UK distance selling laws, and Trading Standards will chase this up, and they will be fined or worse if found to be in breach of said Trading Standards! I sent the seller I was having problems with an email with the threat of a report going to TS, and they got back to me right away!!

So you've got two avenues to chose from, the good thing with Trading Standards is theres no "time limit" to launch a complaint!!

I posted about this on other forums as well ( a lot of people seem to not be getting there orders.

I have also bin trying to get in contact with wargames empire and no reply to emails and they never pick up there phone ( some times its busy so i know some one is there )

I placed my order on 9/9/09 so not bin 10 business days yet so i give the shop till wednesday see if my order comes.

If my order don't come or there is stll no contact from the shop by 9/23/9 i will go to my bank and let them take it from there.

Phonic, I note on the Heresy OL website you mention that you used a debit/bank card. In the UK you do not get the same level of protection that you would get from a credit card i.e. credit card = visa's money, debit = your money. Don't worry though as you will still be covered by the distance selling act, its just easier with a credit card.

Sorry I am really repeating myself of this thread and it may not be helpful to those already being messed around by these jokers but I say again (knowing that there are younger users and people inexperienced with finance and distance sales) - ONLY EVER USE A CREDIT CARD WHEN PURCHASING ON THE INTERNET!!

Apart from the fact that if you have a good one you will get additional benefits/cash back/discounts from its use, its great to be able to call upon a multinational company like barclaycard/visa to fight your battles for you.

There seems to be allot of bad press about this company, I would as the title suggests avoid them. They are based in the same town/area as bot GW and Maelstrom, which strikes me as pretty poor business, do not seem to have any sort of communications with their customers and can not meet delivery dates. This rings of a back bedroom operation expanding too rapidly, which will soon fold. I would make sure I do not have an order with them when they do, saving an extra couple of percent on an order really isn't worth the additional hassle. Cancels you orders and re-order with one of the above recommended companies.

another story regarding this (one man ?) company from Germany: after a friend of mine ordered stuff from them with no problems I placed an order there about some planet strike stuff. This was on 2nd of July 09. The only reason I ordered there was they had the planet strike outpost offered (which turned out to be a mistake later) which other online-shops didn't. Normally I order stuff on http://gwonline.biz/ with no problems.
I paid via bank transfer as they didn't offer credit card payment until then. That money was booked from my account a few days later. When nothing arrived I sent an email which was answered 3 (!!!) weeks later. Meanwhile I called that guys (which always took a lot of tries) and it turned out the the money arrived already but was not "booked" within thier system yet. They promised to ship the stuff now. Weeks later nothing had arrived. So more emails, requests via thier website and phone calls. This time it turned out that the stuff was sent and marked delivered by royal mail but I got nothing. I even got a tracking number this time. So he promised to order and send it again (this time with UPS). That was 3 weeks ago. Since then I try to call that company 3-4 times a day without success (however as mentioned before the lien is busy sometimes).
So it's more than two months now and I don't really know what to do to get my money back with that bank transfer stuff ... However good to know I'm not the only one.

BTW: ordered 5 boxes of Space Hulk from Wayland one week before release. Arrived two weeks later !
