Subject: Grots growing old?

I understand that Orks keep growing as they age, and don't stop so they can become extremely large. I also understand that Makari, the longest living Grot ever, only got to the age of 9 before he was sat on by his 'ill-tempered' master.
My question is, what would happen if a Grot were to live without the dangers of orks and were to age to 30 or 40 years old (old for a Grot)? Might they grow like Orks or will they have considerably different effects?
If anyone knows any Fluff please tell me.
Thanks
Grimm

Woah...I just imagined a gargant size grot charging across a battlefield :O
I reckon no one will ever know. They get killed too much. Stomped on by orks, eaten by squigs, blasted by marines or skewered by csm....the point it they die. And rather quickly.

Anuvver fing - when they do sumfing, they try to make it look like somfink else to confuse everybody. When one of them wants to lord it over the uvvers, 'e says "I'm very speshul so'z you gotta worship me", or "I know summink wot you lot don't know, so yer better lissen good". Da funny fing is, arf of 'em believe it and da over arf don't, so 'e 'as to hit 'em all anyway or run fer it. |

Damn it kairima said it before me i figure squigs are like ork dogs so grots get the old chewy grots so they probably never get to be old regularly.

I think Grots would just stay the same size, well they would get a little bigger, but nothing really substantial. Odds are they would die from accidents or something, thats what they are there for

And they would make orks with spreding spores, so they start getting squashed pretty quickly.

I think this is a pretty important point. Orkoids spread like a fungus, constantly sloughing off spores that grow into other orkoids. They also grow up FAST. It's HIGHLY improbable that any grot feasibly could spend that much time away from any other orkoids. General knowledge, personality, physical characteristics, etc. are all genetically encoded into orkoids. That, coupled with the fact that populations generally maintain similar proportions of the various orkoid types (orks, gretchin, squiggly beasts), ensure that orkish society remains relatively stable (meaning incredibly chaotic, but with all the crazy variances following a generally similar pattern). Stable orkish society = grots dropping like flies. Flies that get kicked, sat on, used as flailing green bullets, blown up, eaten, and die in all other sorts of nasty ways.
So, to answer the question of an aged grot's size: Who the hell knows? Nature won't allow it and no one else cares enough to try and make an experiment of it. I mean, they're just grots (if your species/faction even knows and/or cares what that means).

I think they would just get more hunched and withered. For some reason I'm imagining an old Grot with a long, grey beard.
The oldest Grots are going to be the ones who are the most cunning and sneaky.
