Tough Tyrant Guard

Just wanted to see what kind of armies people have out there (and who still plays the SBG or WOTR)

(All points are for SBG)

Moria - 600 points
Typical horde with Durburz, two Cave Trolls. Can throw in the Balrog.

Mordor - 500 points
Small army centered around a mordor catapult. Can throw in a Nazgul on Fell Beast.

Isengard - 500 points
Uruk-hai horde. Can throw in Saruman.

High Elves - 500 points
Bows, Elven Blades, and Spear/Shield wall.

Gondor - 300 points
Warriors of Minas Tirith with Captain and Banner pretty much.

(Behemoth - 2,000 Points Painted)

(Alpha Legion - 2,000 Points Painted)
- Favourite Opponent - Local RTT Dec. 2018

(Vior'la Sept - 1,000 Points Painted)
- Medusa V Veterans, Konor Veterans

(Steel Legion - 1,000 Points Painted)

I think Evil gets all the best miniatures in LOTR. There's very few of them I don't love. (The stupid skulltastic shamans are an exception. When GW are allowed design, they betray the aestethic of New Line's excellent people)

I do love Rohan and Dwarves though. Not sure which I would pick as a Good Force.

Isengard (around 700 points)

Rivendell (around 500 points, maybe more)
Rohan (lots)
Warriors of Gondor (last alliance, lots)
Wood Elf (Haldir, etc armored, small)

Problem is there is no one to play against. Doesn't stop my collecting though.

Legio Suturvora 2000 points (painted)
30k Word Bearers 2000 points (in progress)
Daemonhunters 1000 points (painted)
Flesh Tearers 2000+ points (painted) - Balt GT '02 52nd; Balt GT '05 16th
Kabal of the Tortured Soul 2000+ points (painted) - Balt GT '08 85th; Mechanicon '09 12th
Greenwing 1000 points (painted) - Adepticon Team Tourny 2013

Yeah evil have some of the best gw lotr figs but i like the new theoden at pelennor and the army of the dead.

'I do love Rohan and Dwarves though. Not sure which I would pick as a Good Force.'

It depends on what your looking for in an army;
- If you want a good looking when painted army = dwarves
- All mounted fast army = Rohan
- Solid army = dwarves
- Powerful heroes + allies = Rohan

I'm not sure either way. I like them both!
Of course, the sweet thing about WOTR is that I can ally them with each other...

Dwarves have always been a favourite of mine, but I hate how they play in WFB. I wonder if they're more fun to play in LOTR/WOTR. They'd make good adversaries for my Moria Goblins though.

Rohan have a lot of stuff going for them that I really like, most of all that I love the plastics, and I really like playing fast, aggressive armies.

Hmm, I do not play WotR so these are all SBG points values, I'll never paint fast enough for WotR.

Gondor
-Around 1000 points, give or take.
-Will probably expand into fiefdoms at some point for a bit of diversity.

Isengard
-Around 750 points, just never get round to painting them.
-Am hoping to expand this with corsairs after testing some Arbalesters.

I have bits from every army to be honest, random boxes I liked the look of, but my next army I think will be Rohan, I always look at them and think of Helms Deep, then decide I want some. Will probably work out 500 points or so and just go crazy, then regret it come to painting time.
As with other people only one person, a good friend, seems to play and it ends up as just us every time we try for a game, ah well.
