Has the new Space Wolf codex inspired you to start Space Wolves?
I've been playing Space Wolves the whole time, the new codex makes no difference..
I have an old Space Wolf army and the new codex makes me want to use them again.
Yes, I'm starting a brand new Space Wolves army.
I would start a Space Wolves army but I don't want to jump on the bandwagon.
No, the codex doesn't make me want to start a Space Wolves army at all.
I had a Space Wolves army already but the codex makes me want to stop playing them.
I don't play 40K or have no opinion.

What kind of effect has the release of the new Space Wolf codex had on you?

I have been playing Space Puppies since 1st Edition. In fact part of Logan’s Wolf Guard has figures and parts from the 1st Terminator Box Set.

i wasent going to start a wolf army... but a friend of mine wanted to get started in warmachine and i had a bunch of extra khador.

when he asked if i wanted a space wolf army in trade, i took it.

its a good start, and i shouldent have a problem getting to 1500 with the stuff i got off him... and it included some old school models, like old rhinos, the old long fangs, the giant chunk of metal they called a SW dread (will be used as ven dread, or the HQ one).

mounting everyone on corked bases for more epic look.

I was going to use the new Codex for a counts as preheresy army, then I just decided to go with preheresy Space Wolves. So yes, I jumped right on that bandwagon! They're different enough from vanilla Marines to make the army very interesting to me.

This is the 1st time that a SW codex has come out that truly exited me.
the 1st and 2nd time the week before I was the only player and a week after there was nothing else.
I have no problem with people the don't want to play them, thats fine, but this time there is a lot of hate that IMO seems unjustified.
This is the 1st time however that a new SQ Codex came out with a international community talking about it, so I guess that is expected.
I just hope to see the Hate when the Nid-Dex comes out.

I've been playing them since Fourth edition. I only played Rogue Trader previously, the ever increasing army sizes getting hard on the wallet of an unemployed student. (Remember when you could have 10 models on the table and feel like you were playing a solid game of 40K?)

I'm still mixed on the new codex. It's like asking for a puppy for Christmas, and getting a dog sledding team with sled. Does what it does extra awesomely, but doesn't deliver everything that a puppy does.

Codex creep is unimpressive to me, although I must say I enjoy the models. I may take bits from SW to add to some of my units, but nothing extraordinary.

The only reason I liked the new Space Pu[[ies Codex is because of the all termie option (I don't like DA) and the Thunderwolf cavalry bu the thunderwolves are way to expensive so I'll just wait.

I really like the new sw codex but i have invested to much time and money with my ig so the only marines id get would be grey knights like Mattlov. there pretty bad ass and i can have them as allies in my ig army.

I'm amazed at how little I care about Space Wolves. I dig Norse mythology. I dig early medieval. I dig viking (both the act and the various people that are commonly termed as such). I translate Anglo-Saxon manuscripts, for Christ's sake. I've got scholarly translations of the Prose Edda, Volsungsaga, Erbyggjasaga, and a stack about 6 inches thick just of/on Beowulf (the majority of my translation work, thus far, hence having Old English, modern, plus compendiums of studies and criticisms) sitting not 3 feet from me as I type this. I'm a walking stereotype - Medieval Studies major, long hair, long beard, metalhead, pagan, D&D, MTG - and they somehow STILL don't do it for me. I can't put a finger on it, but it's definitely not just wanting to be different and therefore avoiding the bandwagon. Based solely on fluff, I'd play Ultramarines first. Based on looks, I'd STILL play UM first. I haven't even looked at the new codex, yet. I don't need to.

So, yeah... If there had been a "Hell no! I have a completely inexplicable aversion to Space Wolves, regardless of the content of the new codex." option, I would have picked it. I just went with the closest "no."

YO DAKKA DAKKA!

SW were my first army, back in crappy ol' 2nd ed. I've certainly been inspired to start them up again.

In my opinion they're more entertaining than ever. Their fearsome reputation of might has actually had a metagame effect on many players, to the point that they will cry 'codex creep!' and 'double-bacon cheeseburger!', and sometimes refuse to even play against the army, with no personal reason other that what they've heard on forums, etc.

The only thing that concerns me is geting comped at tournaments because of this same irrational paranoia... It's an MeQ codex with plenty of downfalls, plenty of mistakes and issues that need FAQing. They can die horribly to Guard and Tau without a solid deepstriking build, and even with their advantages against Daemons I've had trouble with horror-spam armies.

I don't really care for SPEHSE MAHREENS, much less space puppies. I do own a small Salamanders army but they're mostly just for painting and when I get tired of losing with my Necrons or kicking butt with my Tyranids

I haven't read the codex yet as no one I play with plays Space Wolves, and I haven't bothered to look for a PDF.

I own and play:
Space Marines (all flavours)
Tau Empire
Tyranids
Necrons

I have had a space wolf army since 3rd ED. Just never finished them I've been working on converting every single little soldier. NOW that I've seen overviews of the new codex I HAVE NOT SEEN 1 REFERENCE TO A LEMAN RUSS EXTERMNIATOR!!! I have been working for months (on & Off) converting a Russ to an Exterminator. FOR WHAT? I don't think I'll buy the new codex now.

@ Arctik I can understand where your coming from, but to give you an idea of what I was working on: I bought the FW icons & had that stuff all over the hull, as well as some historical viking miniature shields with runes on them, the engine compartment was "opened" up a bit so you could see the customized engine I put in there, the gunner sticking out of the turret looks like he has "mark of the wulfen". NOW what do I do "counts as a Predator"? Sorry I guess I just needed to vent.

I really wish we still had the Leman Russ also, it was the one tank that really made SW armies stick out, even though I had rarely seen them being played. I do seem to remember rumours over a year ago about how the Leman Russ Exterminator was to no longer be a choice in the codex, however.
