It had started so many weeks back, when the depleted Paradise Losr guard army made planetfall on a seemingly undefended desert world. When they landed, instead of finding the PDF resisting their take over, the Paradise Lost were greeted as saviors. by the third day, they had complete control over the world, and were rebuilding their army after a disastourous campaign against Orks in the Octavious system. However, all was not perfect upon the planet. The population spoke of unseen nightmares, stalking outside the city walls, and of a great ship that landed, in the desert months ago. They spoke of beasts that would drag the careless under a sand dune without making a sound, or creatures that hunted in packs a huindred strong. The Paradise Lost saw no proof of these 'phantoms', but they still sent a salamander scout into the dunes. The vehicle had a signal beacon, and was armed with a pair of short snouted autocannons. Three days after it left the safety of the hive, they lost its signal. The armed forces panicked, and started making the various preperations for a seige. A day later, they picked up the signal again. Unsure of what to do, they sent a speeder out over the desert to investigate. The salamander was wrecked. The tank had a deep rent gouging through the tanks middle. The crew members were all dead. They had been herded into a line and then executed, with a shot to the head. Days later, the Hives were simultaneously attacked. A sea of claws, fangs and horrific Bioweapons cascaded over the Hives low walls. untold thousands were ripped apart in the frenzy. Hive Partheia, the smallest of the various hives studding the surface of the planet was untouched. However, it came to light that the entire population of Partheia had beencorrupted to a hideous cult that venorated the Beasts from the sand as gods. Partheias citazins fell upon the Paradise lost guardsmen stationed their with animalistic fury. Soon, every hive was a warzone. The Paradise Lost, decided they were not going tob e wiped out. not after they had survived so much. they made preperations to depart and evacuated as many soldiers from the almost overun hives as they could, leaving the citazins to fend for themselves. Less than a day after the last of the Guardsmen left the planet, the world fell silent. The last survivors had been rounded up and executed, in a grisly public display. However, the Paradise Lost did not care. they had rebuilt their ranks from the last wars they had had, and the new recruits were willing to learn from them. They saw it as a victory, of sorts.
However, with the planets population massacred, and assimilated into the swarm, the crash landed ship, had enough power to rise from the ashes of a fallen world and find another world to feed upon. This was the birth of Gorgon.

hehe ^^ well im still unsure. i was thinking of it like a virus or something, that infects and mutates people, then they all swarm back onto the derelict ship and go infect somewhere else.
Ill describe one of the creatures then
Ordo Xenos Report:
Species: codenamed Gorgon [see file 23648- Medusa uprising]
Threat Index: medium
Homeworld: to be confirmed.
The Xenos species named a Gorgon, is an unknown entity that has been seen in the eastern fringes of the galaxy in recant years. The species has been seen on no less than three seperate worlds in as many years, and has been identified as "highly dangerous to ill defended or primative worlds". The disturbing incident on Medusa III, in which a whole world was obliterated is disturbing to say the least. Their is amny speculations of what a gorgon is. Some extremists believe it is a highly modified species of tyranid similar to the species of Zoat [see file 67430- hive fleet ouboris] but skeptics say, that this species is totally unlike tyranids in behavior and tactics. The most disturbing thing, is that the first signs of a possible infestation is from the population. The presance of the species on a world causes serious angst and worry in normal populations, but in psykers, outright panic is felt. The species apearance can vary greatly, but are all unified by their disturbing resemblance to humans. This makes them almost impossible to identify or catagorise. instead, it is easier to describe the most common creature seen recantly. This sub species had been dubbed simply as a Manic. obviously the mutations within the species varies greatly, but they all seem to have faces. Many of the other species, seem to be missing eyes, noses and other sensory enhancements. A manic is about human sized, and in many ways looks identical. However, they have key differences. firstly. they either have an extra set of limbs or none at all, and their limbs normally end with bone protusions. A manic is thus named due to the suicidal fighting tactic. the Manic sprints towards their oponent without care of living or death. Whilst charging, they become oblivious of everything around them, and short of removing the head will slow them down. Even if the legs are removed, the creatures will drag themselves towards their targets. Also, a great many of mutated varieties include enlongated tongues, jaws on their chests or other disfigurements. Other species have yet to be identified.
[i]My lord, i hope you find this as worrying as i have. i beg you to act upon the incursions into our space this species has made. i will continue to study the various reports and accounnts made from the three planets that were attacked. however, i leave you with this disturbing pict image that was takenby a destroyed servo Skull. it honestly scares me to say the slightest.

Lok strode down the dimly lit corridor with purpose, Aurellius in pursuit. "Tell me, aurellius, have you ever heard of the Cortex brain leech? its a tyranid organism, that turns people into flesh eating creatures, under the sway of the hive mind. I believe These gorgons seem to share simililarities with those infected by the cortex leech. However theyre being described like theyre evolving into different organisms....i wonder..."
