Got my tiny order from them today, the lovely McKenzie model:

Also included was a lovely thank you note, a button and a piece of toffee. Dunno, but I find it nice and lovely that they add stuff like this.

I said people love Hasslefree because they put sweets in the packages.

Heresy do it too.

I'll be buying from them more from now on. Not just because of candy and shiny buttons, but also because they've got good quality that sizes up nicely with the other 28mm ranges.

Well they are the only company in the FOD that sticks to that scale the other companies are all GW scale. id recomend http://www.eolithminiatures.com/ if you want good quality as well, Steve makes some of the best minis around. (GW) scale, but to be honest you have to be a fan of his style or not. right now hes doing 54mm, but you can get some of the ol spyglass which IMO was his best minis. What makes them so special is the potential for freehand, and the quality in every peice. Only problem is that you have to look around for the ol spyglass stuff now as its no longer made.

That's a pretty pointless plug then.

Plus they don't seem to do sci-fi, which is what I'm after.

We'll be putting in an order for a few for xmas. We won't be spending £35 though to take advantage of their offers. In previous years they've done a "every 4th figure is free" offer which works out pretty good value.

I too have liked Hasslefree stuff for a while now. Their "Harby" miniature is currently slowly becoming the protagonist in my new diorama

Hasslefree make great, characterful little figures.

I've got a bunch of their stuff just because I liked it, as well as a few for specific projects.

Size-wise, does their stuff look out of place next to GW? I'm thinking of getting some for my upcoming =][= Munda game.

Shane: yes. it does unfortunately the scale is much to small for GW.
on the bright side though try heresy (another FOD company, they make great sci fi humans, (perticularly the not matrix ones) and the best demons.... korne wise anyway. (blatant plug )

I was actually just looking at Heresy. If they match up well size-wise, there are a couple of sci-fi types I might ask the wife to get me for Christmas. Thanks for the tip!

I don't know if I agree with this. I use the not-matrix female with trenchcoat as part of my =I= retinue. Sure, her proportions look small next to the ham-fisted and ham-headed GW figs, but she blends in nicely.

I also use a dynamic Tiriel model in my Bret army as a foot knight. She also fits in.

It may vary by miniature some, but I think they work, and will be slowly adding more!

Well thats personal preferance, most people dont want to play with scale.
I cant disagree with you but the question was one of scale. personaly i go all HF in a squad/band or none because there IS a noticable difference.

Oh and FYI D-tiriel is just a hair bigger than most of kevs sculpts. or so ive noticed. (i got the 3 pack

Here's a comparison for you:

As you can see, Debra (on the far right) is about the same height as a Cadian, but is much thinner. I think you could easily get away with it.

GW figures are on steroids. The height is the same as other 28mm figures but the head, hands etc and bloated and more like the size of 54mm figures.

Lets not forget Twilight, Fenris, and black scorpion. BS is part of the fOD, Fenris does awesome bases and lil things like the tartus, clap boards, etc. Twilight is so far the best new thing out for minis and genre this year. Seeings as how we have hijacked the thread and made ot PRO FOD.

*goes to make another thread.....

Depending on the figures, this isn't a major issue. "Harby" for example, is pretty huge, and he nicely dwarfs many GW human minis.

I love Hasslefree as well. I have yet to encounter a miniature business with such great customer service as theirs.

The candies are yummy. I used to give them to my GF, but ever since I tasted one I keep them for myself.

What really got me is that a package took all of three days to arrive from the time that I ordered (england to middle of north America) and she apologized in her note for taking so long. I have in-town mail that takes longer to get to my house.

I have to say, that for the money people spend of FW stuff, if FW simply did a minor bit like this apologizing for their....months long shipping delays...perhaps people wouldn't think so harshly of them. But, I digress....

All I know is that I am a fan of hasslefree. That is one husband/wife team that really know how to run a business geared towards it customers with great products and great prices. Shipping was extraordinarily cheap as well.
