SO... I am just starting on the daka and want to introduce myself.
this is my war gaming experience so far:
2 years ago a mysterious man came to my school and asked to teach the nerds a lesson.. not really but I did find warhammer 40k and fantasy in an after school program. Fantasy never really interested me and so I got interested in 40k. now at this time Christmas rolled around and I having nothing better to spend my rich grandparents money on I went on a spending spree of vanilla marine madness. built said items and put them down due to school. I 1 and half years later stared at the models on my shelf and decided to give it another try. I went back to my local shop and began to relearn and play. not to long after I had a slight grasp on the game a 500 point flash tournament appeared and havening rich parents decided to enter. I proceded to win top prize of fifty dollars. since then I have played 17 1750 games and have lost 11. I continue to play to this day.

now that you have my overly long intro there are a few things I could use help in...
1. building a competitive list
2. history and background of 40k
3. any other use full knowledge you have.

oh and if any one wants to know I play in Salem Oregon.
