Ico and Shadow of the Colossus.
Two or three Silent Hills were published.
If you like horror, Forbidden Siren (or Siren) is worth a look.
All the Jak & Daxter, the Sly Raccoon and the Ratchet & Clank games are good if you like 3D platform/roaming adventure type games.
Tomb Raider Legend and Anniversary (which is a remake of the very first Tomb Raider game.)
Prince of Persia is good for 3D roaming adventure.
Final Fantasy X2 is pretty well thought of.
The Disgaea games are pretty good for tactical RPG.
SingStar
Several FPS and racing games but you don't sound like you are interested in those genres.

R-Type Final comes to mind, for scrolling shooters.
Did they release any of the Raiden games on the PS2? here, it's a dead spot for those kind of games.

I found the Artelier games on ebay between 10~20 dollars, R-Type Final was about $10-15. That doesn't seem unreasonable. Many of the games listed were between $10-20 so I'm not sure what you are looking for.

Both God of War games are a must-have. Both are wonderful examples of how action games should work.

People are like dice, a certain Frenchman said that. You throw yourself in the direction of your own choosing. People are free because they can do that. Everyone's circumstances are different, but no matter how small the choice, at the very least, you can throw yourself. It's not chance or fate. It's the choice you made. |

most of the Tales of XXXXX games sucked, sad to say.... it was the same thing, with new charecters, reboxed. You play one you played em all. I have all the ones on Gamecube, didn't bother with PS2 after playing the first few and seeing as (just like the SNES ones were compared to the GC ones) they were the same... tho if you love JRPG's go for it.

They are RPG's. Part of the game, at least in Iris and I believe the others a similiar, is collecting items to create new items and creatures. It has big meaty sprites and colorful characters. Wiki link.

Luna, any money spent on a consoles games can be better matched with a PC either with a tight Win XP rig with top level graphics or a retro.
After than you can get real RPG's and mods for them.
If you still want console games other can help you, fair enough. But I think not splitting the money and keeping the whole budget for your PC hardware is all you really need.
Some titles aside which are omitted for marketing reasons anything a console can do a PC can do better.
You can get the codescsand compatibikity right with a few well chosen programs. The only real sticking point is the OS. I recommend Tiny XP (the pirate) its ok if you have legal codes for your Win XP disk because you are not cheating anyone. Tiny XP has the bloat removed and you can add in yur own legal activation codes from a genuine Win XP disk into it, all you are doing is substitting the microsoft bloated DVD with the Tiy not bloated one. Tiny XP runs on 45Mb install, and is real fast. OS bloat is the only real downside for the PC.
Once your PC is working as efficiently as possible I all but guarantee I can match any console game title to title with the same or better on the PC.
