I've tried searching for "Realm of Battle" several times using variations of case and keep getting 'No results found'. I can't believe that its never come up in conversation here.

Any advice?

Use google to search for:

That does a search of dakka's forums using google's database.

Wow, that's a cool google-fu tip. Does the dakka search function just suck?

Dakka's search is not great, I can fix most of the problems with a couple of weeks of code cleanup and tweaking, but for a lot of cases it would be better to just use google. You can reskin google to do a site search which is another option as that would perform higher quality searches across the articles, gallery and forums easily, but would not search private forums like the DCM forum so it is not a perfect solution. It also lacks the detail level for image searching that the gallery search engine has.

It's always amazing the amount of work required when it comes to fixing something via coding. Just amazing the quality of a site like this, and it's free. You guys do a good job, thanks.

Could we at least get search results to sort by date descending, instead of date ascending? It's a fairly simple change, and would help out a lot.

Um, there's a radio button about two inches away from the search function. If you click it before you search you can descend any way you want. I've highlighted it below for you.

Oh, I see. Not in the main directory forum, and not in a thread, but only in the sub forum. I don't think I've ever used that. I presume that localizes the search to just that forum, cool.
